its weird how many people on ns sail or at least say they do.

like where i live people like stare at me like i'm a weirdo, or they think its really cool, because its dieffernet, that i sail. NO ONE sails. is it normal for all you guys, or are you different in your area also? what do you sail.

have i posted this already....?

i sail, teach sailing, and race. its fun. crews cool too. i like to wakeboard better, but sailing doesnt use so much gas. sailings the shit, so fun, and if you think its boring, wait til you sail like a laser or small boat in 20+ knots, oh shit its scary and fun, youra ll planing. its tight

stinky, you own a laser? is it in good condition? do you sail much? i can use them from the yacht club, but i would like to buy one.

I sail at least a couple times a summer. I usually take those little sunfish out (not really sailing but its all I have access to on my own). I got certified or something last summer, took a course with my Dad, that was pretty cool. We were sailing, fuck I forgot, a boat with 2 sails and a lot of things to hook up, but the hardest thing was getting out of the harbor without a motor, just backsailing and shit. Of course there were like 300 other boats in the harbor and we hit other boats many times.

i sail all the time we have a boat and race some times its not a racing boat so not in anything bit but its fun i was out on the weekend sailing

 
fuck sailing is the shit,i sail hobie 16's and lasers, you have to work to go fast where as in a power boat you press a button and go

Driving a 130 HP jet ski isn't easy there chief... I'd like to see you set it into a 540 spin at 40 miles per hour. Yes, I have sailed. I sailed JY's, Sunfish, Lazer's and I also dabbled in windsurfing.

i never said it was easy buddy, its just i find it to gradually be less fun where as on a sail boat, different weather conditions make it more interesting

I have a racing sail boat, I own a Vanguard 15. I sail that on the weekends at Chicago Yacht Club almost all year. During the week I sail 420s and Lasers at Chicago. I travel around N. America all summer long competeting at various events. If anyone else says and will be at some of the big events (CORK, Buzzards Bay, Junior Olympics,420 N American Championships) messafe me, I would like to hook sometime!

yeah laser 2's are the shit, but i still enjoy my hobie, you can get it goin so fast on one pontoon if you know how...thats a rush

try a laser with a huge competition sail in 4-5 foot waves about 20 min after a HUGE rain storm.

thats a rush.

a little more of a rush when your boom breaks and you capsize in the middle of it.

yes this did happen to me and a friend.

crazyness, i was out on the hobie, the forestay broke, the mast fell over and the boat cartwheeled, that was a grand ol time, heh heh heh

The best is when its blowing 35 knots, and the boat windard to you capsizes on the starting line, and starts taking you and 5 other boats off the line and we all start to capsize. That happened and it sucked, totally got schooled that race, The laser is by far my favorite boaT!

sunfish isn't sailing? ask any pro, or any sailer, small boat sailing is the most intimate (?) sailing there is, and the most difficult. all big boaters start on small. and all small boat sailers are the best in the world

I agree with the small boat thing but sunfish is not a good racingboat, they can't point and sail area is too small. Very easy boat to sail. Good for screwing around in but not for racing!

try going to worlds or masters, you may rethink. but i guess i can agree on some levels. but a laser is probably the best on that aspect.

snipes and j22's are the best, when I was 16 me and my friend who was 18 took fourth place in the Snipe Nationals at my local lake. it was pretty sweet to beat a bunch of old guys who sail every damned day. We know that lake soooo well though
