Saggy pants are a crime!

Ahahaha, you crazy Americans!

From the Guardian online

Flint, Michigan's police chief isn't backing down from his crackdown on saggy pants.

The

American Civil Liberties Union said last week that today would be the

deadline for chief David Dicks to halt the stopping and searching of

individuals with low-riding pants exposing underwear or bare bottoms.

Legal action may be forthcoming because Dicks said he isn't changing anything.

"I'm

going to keep on doing what I'm doing," Dicks told the Detroit Free

Press yesterday. "I guess I'm expecting a lawsuit," he said, but there

has to be a plaintiff.

Dicks pointed out that he has only issued warnings since implementing the policy June 27.

"I don't see how a warning is a civil rights violation," he said.

Dicks

said wearing pants below the waist is a crime - a violation of the

city's disorderly conduct ordinance - and can give police probable

cause to search saggers for other crimes, such as weapon or drug

possession. He said exposing the buttocks is indecent exposure.

Both crimes are misdemeanours punishable by 93 days to a year in jail and fines up to $500, Dicks said.

The ACLU is particularly troubled by the searches of saggers.

"Your

new practice of stopping and threatening young men with disorderly

conduct for wearing 'saggy pants' is a blatant violation of the United

States Constitution," the ACLU wrote to Dicks in a letter last week.

"Although

you were recently appointed chief of the Flint police department, you

cannot appoint yourself chief of the 'fashion police'. You have no

power to criminalise a style of dress because you find it distasteful.

We ask that you halt this practice immediately."

isnt flint where the movie semi pro was based in the michigan flint tropics woot

and that is really gay i doubt anybody will spend a year in jail the judge will throw it out cause its gay

people get killed in drive buys like every day ( may be lieing but alot) and they are gonna but innocent people in jail for wearing saggy pants

Til you trip on your pants.

No like I understand what he's going after, but targeting saggy pants is ridiculous. I bet he's the kind of guy also has a thing out for all black and mexican people.

Michael Moore is from Flint MI... hope they don't outlaw any other questionable dressing styles, or he's fuuuuuucked.

Anyway, I like this guy's no-bullshit strongarm solution to the general downtrend of dressing style over the last couple of decades. "Wear a suit or go to jail" is next! Something tells me this law won't last very long.

How many people sag there pants so there ass is actually out of there pants maybe you can see there boxers, but i doubt he could charge someone with indecent exposure for showing there underwear lol, thats retarded

im gunna go there and just walk around in my boxers, thats no freakin different then sagging, and frankly that is not indecent exposure cause you arent showing anything. fuckin moron sounds like the principal of a high school. next hes gunna ban spagetti strap tank tops and skirts that are higher than the knee.

one of the reasons why i generally hate cops. if they started doing that here, i would just wear them lower or go out wearing only boxers. isnt that the same as shorts?

i'm pretty sure they are just doing it so they can search random people who have saggy pants. The thing going for the police is that the guys who have pants with a beltline at their ass are more likely to have drugs on them than anyone. It's still messed up even if no one goes to jail for it.

yo i live near flint. that is a serious law. you get fined 250$ for it. you cant have them below your butt

and i think its super whack i hate it

Soon they will be able to search you for no reason what so ever!

LAND OF THE FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

psych

there was a law passed in queensland australia against plumbers crack (coin slot... the top of a but crack hanging out the top of your pants, dont know what name you guys give to it) anywaysi think that was a $60 or something.

i wonder if this dick guy would enforce the law if he saw a hot ass ladie with her thong sticking out the top of her pants.

he says they are only warning people so my guess is that they have it as a law so it gives them a reason to detain someone if they believe they have commited another more serious offense but cant prove it enough to dtrain them for it at the moment. This will allow them to be able to interrogate you, finger print you, dna, all that shit, which will buy them time to work on nailing you for another offence. Also very stereotypically, people who dress like that dont have the best record as law obiding citizens and if it ever came to a vote do not have a very good voting record and therefore this law would pass easily.

haha, you think he's doing this cause he finds that style of dress distasteful? hahaha

background info on Flint, MI

notoriously one of the highest crime rates in north america relating to theft, drug violations and violence

guess what saggy pants are good for... hiding drugs and various weapon types

he's attempting to put an end to concealed weapons and drug smuggling (i'm not talking about pot, cops couldn't give two shits about pot in a city like Flint)

now, i'm not saying all people who sag their pants are offenders of these laws but i'm willing to bet that 90% of the offenders wear saggy pants

this is really unbelievable

that cops would actually attempt to pass a law like that makes me laugh at the level of shit that they are focusing on
