Saftey Meetings: Mandatory.

I think these should be mandatory, as skiing the park can get a bit dangerous some times. Just mellow out with a saftey meeting and everything will be safe and smooth.

Its all common sense, it's really not that complicated. 1. Only hit a jump you know how fast you have to go/have seen someone else hit/follow someone who has hit it before. 2. If someone looks like they fall, wait for them to appear. 3. Don't try something you know you can't do. 4. If you don't think you have enough speed, bail

wow Im actually quite surprised you got legimate answers to this. People must not be keeping safe enough.

Blaze some herbals for sherbals bitches. While I don't personally enjoy safety meetings most of my fellow rippers sesh quite frequently.

well then who hits it first? and don't say someone who knows how fast to go because that's impossible to know exactly

Usually inside jokes are best left on the inside. How the fuck are 100,000 members supposed to get it. Foo'

Yeah i figured that out, as for them, i also do them often, its always a good idea. Sorry that i didn't go to the west coast session?

i wouldnt say its limited to just the west coast sessions...pleeenty of people stay safe all over the place. especially at alta, safety is of top priority.

It's always good to stop and have a safety meeting.

Here are some things to check for that most people forget:

Make sure everyone's chin strap is securely buckled

Check for loose clothing that could get caught in the chairlift

Inspect ski edges for burrs that could cause someone to catch an edge

Check that everyone in the party knows where the ski patrol hut is in case of emergency

Agree upon a meeting place in case someone in the party gets lost or seperated

Use the buddy system, make sure everyone in the group still has their buddy with them

dude you guys are all retards especially heath everybody knows what a safety meeting is. i didnt go to the west coast session and i know. the thread starter wasnt there and he knows.

this is NOT a west coast session insider. it might be just another reason the west is real tight though.

yea it's definately not just a west coast sessions thing. although it seems to be more of a west coast thing, i'd never heard it called a safety meeting till this winter when I was in CO for a while.

I cant beleive you didnt feel dangerous with some of those fancy moves you were bustin. Craaazzzyyy foo! I bet the meetings for saftey must have helped keep it smoooveee.

LOWER BONES SAFETY MEETINGS>>>> FLAT BOX SAFTEY MEETINGS>.

that or the safety dance

shit man i know what you meant... GOTTA BE SAFE BEFORE YOU PLAY>..

and for reel its a muscle relaxer so if you crash your mucles dont snap!

and btw... the term safty meeting came way way way before the recent west coast session..... and its hood slang..... so watch your ass!....

haha im surprised how many people dont know how to actively participate in safety meetings.

but yea safety is my middle name

why even bother saying something like that in this thread? Obviously most of the people posting in here smoke pot... Do you like to make an ass of yourself?

ya a friend of mine clued me in to the term in recent years, we would use it as code around his mom, which was a joke anyway cause she didn't care. Now i just crack up like I'm crazy every time someone at work says it's time for a safety meeting, kinda sucks having an inside joke you can't really explain at the workplace.

i cant believe how safe everyone was during that entire session. everyone definately had their hardhats, orange vests, wrist guards, and all sorts of pads on. i was actually the only dangerous one there, but i did catch some second hand safety
