Safe to Torrent in Japan?

Is it safe to torrent in Japan? I've recently moved to Tokyo and was just curious if I can still Torrent safely since Netflix is useless in Japan.
 
Do you mean "safe" as in is your ISP gonna send you threatening e-mails? I doubt it's any different torrenting no matter where on the globe you happen to be, go wild.
 
Alright guys, thanks. I looked it up and it seems that my Internet provider (ntt) won't really do anything unless you go over 2000 kbps you're pretty much alright.
 
PS. Remember, downloads isn't what they really look at, it's uploading. Someone DLing 500 gb a day? Could be some serious FTP raw footage swap for editing/work etc. But uploading 10 gb a day? It's a red flag.. So don't upload too much, put a limit on it.
 
can you not torrent in canada or the united states? :S

maybe i just been living overseas too long and become accustomed to it but i didnt know it was hard to do.

just saying cause i torrented 10 movies yesterday, but i do live in china...
 
I'm pretty sure China doesn't give a fuck. Japan on the other hand. You get caught with any amount of weed. 45 days in jail without question. And depending on how much you had and how quickly you cooperated with the po po could be much much longer time in jail.
