Safari tabs help

Whenever i try to open a new tab in safari, it closes what i am currently on, goes to top sites page, then makes another blank tab. When i try to put diffrent things in each tab it just loads in the first tab. Please help example: i start on NS

Then i go to file new tab and this happens:
