Well, first I don't think they have county jails in Iraq. I actually don't think it's a terrible thing to have him dead. I think that if anyone is going to argue against the death penalty, this is not the right case to do it with. One, because it isn't even in the jurisdiction of the US, two, because it might prevent his supporters from doing extreme things and demanding his release, and three, if anyone does deserve the death penalty, it's Saddam. Hell, I even support their decision to hang him rather than use more "humane" ways of killing him like the electric chair or lethal injection or whatever. At least they are not lying to themselves by saying that one way of execution is more civilized than the next. Like I said before, I am mainly opposed to people's reactions. If you see yourself on the side of good, then how do you justify the bloodlust? I don't think it has happened yet, but I'm sure it will: This administration, and supporters, are inevitably going to use Saddam's death as justification for the hundreds of other deaths that happen every day. They will say (not necessarily directly) that they are somehow worth it now. Those two things are what frustrates me about this, not that I'm sad that he is dead.
