I agree that he was a really bad man and that he should die. But hanging him? Isn't that a little extreme? We are in america here and we should show the other countries that we can be more civilised then them. Plus, Saddam's friends will be pissed like damn if we hang him! Just killing him will make them go mad, imagine hanging!

The sad thing is, I bet over 80% of America doesn't even know what Saddam really did. All they know is what is widespread by conversation and media outlets. People will call him a genocidal maniac and such, but don't know who he killed or what group he committed genocide against.

i don't think he is trying to justify anything. I think he is pointing out that not a lot of people know exactly what Saddam is standing trial for. Which I agree with, hardly any of the main news outlets actually report on exactly what saddam did. For the news outlets that is old news, you should know that by now. this all happened around 1988 during the iran-iraq war, more than half you kids weren't even born then, hell i wasn't even that old either, but i know because i read. due to your age and when this happened you probably don't know a whole lot which allows you to be very easily influenced if you don't know what he actually did. our parents know, but we don't. the news uses that to their advantage, we are still young and impressionable.

and as for girl jibber, yes he knows. but its also good that you know too. and thanks for sharing that, so now maybe other people will know too.

Yea I dont think he should be Hung He should be sentenced to death just like every other person, he shouldnt be treated any different. Its Probably going to stir up some conflict
 
you guys are wrong, the IRAQI government sentenced him to hanging, we did not...and i dont think it is legal anymore here anyways...if we find osama, i think we should tie him to an american flag pole and have every kid who lost a parent in 9/11 come up and kick him in the sack...it would be mush by the 6,000th kid

next, why should the kids whos parents died in 9/11 kick sadam in the nuts, WRONG FUCKING GUY.

im not saying that sadam is a good guy, but he wasnt responsible for 9/11, osama was, and a lot of people, including big W, have seemed to forgotten that, our focus should be on al queida, but of course, this is a big win for W because it was sadam crashed the plane into the buildings of course, wasnt it?
 
i forgive you haha, hanging wasnt the form of execution chosen because of its nature its chosen because thats how the iraqi government executes prisoners. i think oregon still hangs people but that hasnt been used in over a century.

life in prison is optimal. if he hangs, hes either a martyr or somebodys pissed because we killed him. life in prison is safe for us polotics, and we seem 'bigger' because he said we wouldnt kill him so its kinda like rising above his shit.
 
apparently the iraqi gov't does not execute people 70 years old and above. saddam is turing 70 in april, which means that if the appeal process is going to take a year, well you know what that means.
 
i dont know why there pissing around. just hang the fucker. If it was me who found him i'd have shot him and said he was dead. then at least it doesnt drag onnn. I dont normally believe in the death penalty but he deserves it.
 
yea iraq is saying they dont want him killed now, but for a reason i dont blame. they say that every regime change is through the death of another in their nation. they dont want another death to further advance their trend and want mercy on him. but they arent against punishing him.

also today he faces a trial for genocide...wonder how thats going to roll...
