What have you guys had to give up for skiing? I had to give up hockey. after 11+ years of playing (since I was 4 I think) I finally had to quit today. The second tryout is tonight, and I have decided not to go. THere are many factors. not having anytime if I play, needing to play indoor soccer for my club, and skiing (along with other factors).

yea stopped playing basketball to it was alot of fun and my mom gives me shit for only doing skiing but she just doesnt understand

see.. my parents are real keen on this education thing cause when I was in 5th grade and cared about school i was selected for this gifted student thing and I placed top 10% nationaly (that's the top 1% of all kida in the country in schools), so they really pressure me to do well. Also, I'm good enough at hockey that I had a shot at playing d-2 college, and even a possiblity at d-1. but oh well... as of 20 mins ago that coach is still trying to get me back. mabye if he tried money...

i had the same thing when i was younger, the atyp and stuff. I ended up hating it, taking regular classes and graduating with a good gpa. I go to a mid-size local college now. WMU, Western Michigan University.

for skiing, i gave up playing drums for a while, i play set and played with a grade 4 pipe band for a while, but quit.

 
im giving up my intellegence. ive already had 2 concusions skiing, plus i dont think about school at all, just skiing and smoking

I cant go skiing alot because of lacrosse on sundays, and cuz i cant drive. i can drive in may, so im quitting field next yr, and ican go skiing whenever i want.

How many boots could three Phils fill if three Phils could fill boots?
 
i'm in the processes of sacrificing everything for skiing. I already save every penny i own so i can afford to ski, last x-mas i opted to take off and go skiing before everyone else was up to open presents, my grades are slipping (and will just get worse when i skip school to ski in the winter), i rarely hang out with my friends from school anymore because i'm always hanging out with ski friends and doing ski related shit, and i think the list goes on

I had to give up figure skating (14 years) and soccer (4 years) and volleyball(5years) so i could ski and break horses

you know how moms are with little girls! they have to be girly and do girly things like figure skate and dance and ballet! But I would have non of the last two, thats going too far for me

Hell, I'm willing to give up work. I think work sucks. I had a full time job since I was 15. I also gave up hockey because I didn't have enough time or money to play. I want to start again though. I've also lost a few girlfriends because they just did not understand why I ski so much. Oh well.

True man. I honestly could have been a Doctor, Architect, Chemist. I decided to shoot a bit lower and become a Ski Resort/School Manager. I need like a 55 average to get in to the course. It could be the best or worst decision of my life. But then Again I would have lived my life wondering what if? Which is probably worse than leading a decent life and skiing every day.

Yeah, living a life wher you can ski all the time is awesom. I'd much rather work a lwoer paying job and ski a lot then be rich and not skiing much.

i am playing since 8 years to soccer. Tennis, golf, windsurf, bmx, baseball.

And i still have time to ski.......

yeah i gave up basketball and soccer.. after playing soccer for 14 years.. it was tough.. basketball on the otherhand.. wow.. i had played for 10 years too, but when i got to high school i would always have to run tons for missing practice to ski! one time i even hiked up my hill 30 minutes before practice to ski down out of boredom.. i think i went to practice in ski pants! hahaha
