If you know what SAC is, then you know. Refer to it as SAC only.

Bigger thing...STOP FUCKING FLIPPING PRODUCTS WITHIN THE SAME WEEK OR TWO THEY HAVE BEEN ON SAC.

Case in point, CR labs today. They were $219.95 on SAC.

Side note...if you order an extra, go a head and resell it for the same price, just call it out.

Thank you.

Spencer something big, new, and hot, is coming from SAC in the next week or so.

Colin, It's not a big secret but people still shouldn't be flipping.

sell stuff for whatthefuck ever price you want.

i'm willing to wager at least 50% of the shit you've bought was marked up, a-wad

and guess what, bc.com makes money off of SAC, so what the fuck are you protecting

Nice stats, but why the hostility, and name calling. Chill out with the language and post-hawking man. Simmmmmer down. Simmer the fuck down your cuntmuching a-wad(I can do it too!).

Forget it.

The gear I buy I buy from the shop I work at, at discount/wholesale price, anything else I buy from and support Jibij.

SAC is run off of backcountry.com. No one said that wasn't true.

I'm protecting the kid who could get the ski for a much cheaper price from SAC, or from someone who is actually selling the ski for what it's worth and being sold at(/extras from SAC), without out taking advantage....

I'm a firm beleiver in buying from SAC with intentions of using the gear, not flipping it the same day for more money....or buying an extra as backup or selling for the same fair price later on.

I think you hit Reply, looked at what you said to all of the people you just said it to, and reconsidered.

hey you wanna know something, me and you joined sas films the same day like 2 years ago.

(and i made up the 50% stat.. I think closer to 100% of sales are marked up)

Okay here's the thing...let's say Joe Blow missed the SAC deal because he was working (OMG - that could never happen) and Little Sally picks up an extra pair of say CR labs...and resells them for $20 more...if someone is willing to pay that HOW IN THE HELL DOES IT AFFECT YOU!

Let me make this perfectly clear: this website does not exist as a forum for your profiteering. This is not the place to take advantage of other skiers to make money. If you want to flip SAC, do it on ebay. Any threads considered to be anything even remotely similar to SAC flipping will be deleted, and you risk being banned.

It's got nothing to do with the price, it's got everything to do with being a greedy prick.

Stop hating, the answer to your ? is simple. If Joe Blow owes $20 to thread starter or above post-er for chugging cock, then Joe gives that $$ to Little Sally instead... you see how it ties in?

why do you have to wait till later? Does the time frame make it ok to flip stuff...

so by this rational... lets put together a senario...

senario 1

I buy some shit from my favorite store over the summer while it is on sale for say $150... then something that i think is really cool comes out so I go buy that for like $450 when the $150 thing would have been fine. So now I have this really cool new Product and the old product.. and the sale is over ... so now I offer it up 3 months later for $300 and everyone thinks it is still a good deal...

this is totally ok

senario 2

I buy something from SAC.... its mad cheap so I buy 2... and then it sells out in like 30seconds....so no one was able to get it because of the time frame or they forgot to check SAC in the morning... or what ever the case may be... so I put one of the two for sale on here to TGR or any other forum to offer it to one of the homeboys.. who will appriciate the deal and understand that I went out on a limb to get more than i need... for a best offer or like $50 more to cover the hassle... packaging... whatever...

this makes you an asshole derilect of society who should be bannished to the depths of hell

whats the deal?

thanks for letting me rant... that is all..

let it snow bitches.... and lets go skiing instead of sitting round bitching about bullshit that doesn't affect you!

Neither of those is okay. If you got a deal in favour of someone else who can use it and it turns out you don't need it anymore, hook someone else up at whatever price you paid. Don't take a loss, don't take a profit. If you want a profit, go somewhere else. But not TGR, they're fucking devour you whole if you try that shit there.

Clearer?

One last comment before I forget about this issue all together...

we live in America for the most part

America=Capitolistic society

this is why we have all the freedoms we do..

ok.. that is all

I am over this topic....

dude I've been reading your posts for years and you never have anything nice or constructive to add.

+ a bit pretentious

To tack on to that a little bit...TGR is fucking hardcore. They'll eat you and your children and their children too. We're so softcore compared to them.

As for the whole..."time frame" comment. I'm saying maybe your buy on SAC was striaght impulse and you really don't have a need for your 5th pair of Oakley Monster glasses, so you come back to sell them...for the same price, understandable.

But I don't know what I'm thinking I'm just a dirty commie in a capatalitzzz society so I'm going to go live somewhere else.

Let's get two things straight.

JD and I and anyone else who gets where I'm coming from HATES AMERICA AND HATES AMERICAN FREEDOMS AND LOVES COMMUNISM.

And anyone who can write like JD is pretentious. Got that?!?!

This is a Canadian website... and a privately owned one, which means it can be run however the people who own it feel like. I'm not one of them, just saying, you don't really have a leg to stand on here, because this isn't a capitalist society. It's a website. A skiing website, in an industry which (I wish) people are supposed to help each other out because gear's expensive and we're all struggling to get through the season breaking shit every 10-15 days. If you don't want to help out other skiers, then don't. Your call. But if you want to make money off of someone, go on ebay. You'll probably get more $ there anyway.

If you fucks didnt buy like 5 pairs of everything then maybe they wouldnt sell out so fast and give more opportunity to people who may have gotten to the site a little late.

Or just sell them for what you paid plus the additional shipping charge.

Normally I would be for flipping shit to market prices and taking a profit, fucks its my business, but ski equipment is different. The majority of people here are poor skiers in college or high school, so give them a break by offering them the deal you were fortunate to come across.

*Just a hint by the way, if you do want to try and make a profit of some deal you got somewhere else (not that it should be done; see above) don't be stupid enough to tell people that you are marking it up.

it just seems that most of the people here who are pissed about this are Americans...

thats alll....

ok... done

for real this time... hahahah....

another rad thread on NSrs

sick.....

you know there's still such thing as business ethics, right? just because this is capitalist america doesn't mean you can do whatever the hell you want for gain. i mean look at all the stock option scandals lately.

dude.. how can you compare selling a pair of skis to stock options scandals...

hhaha

i don't get it... what is the deal with all of this.... do you have a clue... cause i sure don't

what eve....

least of my worries i guess.

Flipping is going to happen, but I agree with veteran, its fucking lame because it benefits the people who abuse the system. Keep it off NS.

Also, why do we refer to it as SAC? Can we not say its name or something because of endorsement issues or something? Keeping a secret?

man i almost always am up right for when SAC puts up the new junk for the day but last night i decided to kick it a little early and i miss some CR labs... ah well what can you do. i definitly understand people who try to grab a ton of something when its cheap to make a profit but really, you personally only need one and more often than not you dont even need that one but the price is just too good to pass up. i would like to see people just buy what they want or need (or if their buddy needs the item too thats cool). the site is great and i really dont think BC can be making too much money off of it, its just a great way to get rid of old stuff that they have too much of in the warehouse, youll notice its usually things that were on sale to begin with. i personally think that instead of buying 6 sets of whatever is on SAC and even selling them for the same price, you should just buy yourself one set and leave the rest for the other people.

I wonder what the people of SAC that you live o so close to think about you flipping their stuff for a profit on fellow skiers.

First off, flipping SAC shit stuff is lame and has been getting out of control lately. Please stop.

Secondly, before you go spewing the merits of our wonderful, free-market capitalist system, consider our government's practice of corporate subsidies, corporate tax breaks, and specially created (corporate) loopholes. We are not as capatilist as you might think because our system is not designed around free market. And, in reference to you first post, often socialism fosters free speech as much, if not more, than capitalism.

sac is a buying thingy but to get it you have to be sponsored in a way, its kinda hard to get... just dont worry about it.

and i dont mind the flippin, its still a deal,

wut about burritos thread about his looks pxti12 or wutever the fuck his bindings are hes tryin to sell.

is SAC flipping kind of like that show on TLC, property ladder, where they buy a house for super cheap and fix it up and then sell it and they make a huge profit?

^ yes except they buy the house for way under RRP..then hold it for a day, do no work to it, then there are no more of those houses left and they sell it for a shitload more than what they paid for it...they really had no intention of keeping the house in the first place.

so they are just being pricks and going to sell something that there is little of for way more then your supposed to

they get a great deal and then come on here trying to sell the same item for a profit to people that missed the deal..very frowned upon (especially in the NS community)

You guys are making this out to be some huge deal. I just tried to flip. I think my thread may have been the one to start all of this. So mods, delete it if you want. I won't try it again, but I would like a chance to defend myself.

Hypothetical situation. Someone posts a $300 product on NS for $200. It was bought from SAC for $150. The buyer is getting a $100 discount. Are you guys are telling me that the buyer has the right to complain about an item costing too much when it's already $100 cheaper than anywhere else?

It may just be because the seller got lucky and was at his or her computer at the right time, but that happens. Sooner or later someone else will get lucky. Life's a bitch most of the time, and when you have an opportunity to take advantage of luck, take it. This situation is win win. The seller makes a little change, and the buyer gets a great deal.

I see this as like one of those times in grade school when you notice that you got a question wrong but it wasn't marked wrong. There's no point in telling your teacher. She will probably say, "Thanks be being honest. I'll count it right anyway." Regardless, it's not wrong to take luck when you find it. This is not important enough to be considered a moral issue.
