Certified Pre Owned from this extremely nice dealership.......................

One the engine seized up

Another the turbo went really harsh

The last had tranny issues

Haha for real get with a saab boy don't get mad because you miss heard that they were calling you a slob

word, ive had my saab 3 yrs and put on 65k with nothing but routine maintenance. everybody here is talking out of their ass. somebody name one car that never needs any maintenance

Honestly the kids that are saying saabs Re whatever.. Clearly must have just over heard it somewhere or idk what but there straight bitches

Hey all,

I've loved the vintage late 80's/early 90's Saab 900's since I was a kid.

Really considering one and seen some solid opportunites around (165k for $3000).

Curious what I can expect?

Have you guys seen common problems? Maintenance? etc.

I'm not afraid to put money into a car but want to have some expectations before pursuing farther.

warranty from dealer = free parts

auto parts store = after markets if so inclined

and really just look at them = ugly, like really fucking ugly.

people just say saabs suck because when something goes you're gonna pay for it, but if youre not an an idiot and take care of your car, like you probably should, saabs will go for 300,000 +. theyre extremely well designed, i would say the 900 turbo is one of my absolute favorite cars. ever.

That's cool and all, but my dad had one maybe 10 years ago and all it did was cause horrific problems. It constantly broke down and failed. Keep in mind he bought it new and took excellent care of it. They just have a lot of problems with them and aren't great cars to own.

I'd take a toyota any day.

I've heard they're pretty problematic from my friend who's a mechanic. Rather have a Vo'

Wasn't aware there was a difference, so I'll assume it was a GM as they tend to be shitty and that Saab certainly was.

yeah forgot to mention that, saab before they sold to gm, but who would ever buy one of the god awful ugly vehicles that they made after they sold?

eww fuck saabs they are damn ugly. They look like severely disfigured porches, and I mean severely because I like porches.

I've heard they have shitty components and are a bitch to work on. Along with the countless terrible reviews except for these homos on this forum that get fixated on something and won't/ can't accept the truth that there fixation isn't the best.

But I would take an 80's 90's Saab anyday. The rest are UGLY

so you're saying you can get EVERY part for your car from an auto wrecker. yeah I'd like to see you try.

First off, if you are replacing parts from a car of similar vintage, the likelihood of that part also failing is quite high, which is obvious because it broke on your car in the first place.

suspension, front end parts, drive train parts, brake rotors that all wear out, will need to be replaced with new parts, seeing as used ones will also be worn out, so why put crap on? and further more, oem parts like tie Rod ends and ball joints are sealed, so I opt for after market with grease nipples. Used bushings? That's just stupid. Used brake rotors, then have to get them turned, cheaper to buy new. Used axcels, again pointless given the time to remove and install a pre worn part. A lot of parts you just can't get away with auto wrecker parts.

He knows what he's talking about. You don't, get over yourself and get over saabs being amazing.

yea the GM saabs are sooooo ugly. just kidding i want a viggen so effin bad

plus saabs can be really fast on a low budget

but how do you get "new" parts for these if "> parts from auto parts store = lol" see previous page.

and it appears you didnt say junk yard or auto wrecker, but you baisically said have a junkyard/auto wrecker in your backyard after stockpiling parts from Craigslist, which is worse.

generic parts like suspension and steering links/ tie rod ends will be easy to come by from any auto parts store, but specialized things like electrical components, power steering rack, fuel pumps etc will be a different story.

And i drive an 07 Dodge Dakota Quad cab 4x4. but i'll be trading it off as it just came off warranty, I wanted to trade it off earlier but some lovely lady cut me off and I smashed my front end up. Yeah I realize its a Dakota and "not a real truck" but I dig the size of a quarter tonne over a full size, plus the V8 power and prefer the interior over the Tacomas (however I do like the 2012-2013 Tacoma facelift and interior redesign and will probably be getting one of those)

Honestly I can type in any part on google for a saab and it will be there and I can then put the part on easily myself or go to a garage .. I don't need them ordering parts stop talking stupid shit if you don't even know.. Or if you have had a saab it was probably your shitty Driving

Literally every mechanic I have talked to about saabs say there a bitch to work on. You sound like a 13 year old over emotional attention needing girl saying "stop talking stupid shit if you don't even know"
