hey, just got um, used to have look p10s, how are the salomons? i got the black one so thats sick. just wondering if people have tried them out how they are, strong, poping out, and whatever

 
i have a pair of older salomons that are pretty much identical to the new ones on my rock/rail skis, and i've found that they like to pop off your feet a lot more than other bindings (look/rossi, etc). for instance they release a lot on me when i'm landing switch and i happen to lean forward a little - my P10s have never done that.

See if your toe height and wing settings are out of whack. I've had good experiences with both Salomon and Look/Rossi bindings. The Salomons need periodic adjustments to not prerelease. The Look/Rossis are dummy-proof. You can step into a pair of misadjusted, worn-out Looks covered with snow and they still seem to work right.

you just need to adjust them right all the time. Keep a screw driver handy its a bitch but hey thats salomon bindings for ya.

Well I have two things to say, and I'll keep em short. First off, you already bought the bindings, so I don't know if anything you ask us will really help you, except the screwdriver thing which is definately true.

Secondly you are most likely in for an often occurance of prereleases. Even with my DIN turned up they still come off, and like the other guy said it happens a lot on fakie landings. I also have problems landing in anything thats deeper than a few inches. I'd crank the DIN up higher but then I run the risk of it not releasing when I need it to. Good luck because you're probably going to need it.

the only thing salomon can do right is make boots...i dont know why people bother to buy there other shit...shouldve just A. stuck with your look bindings...or B. gotten new ones

i think ima return um, cuz well i ski switch probably 60% of the time im out there, so it seems this wouldnt be good. i just hoped they would work cuz they were a gift. o well, gonna go get some fkses, like i thought i was getting

 
^well at my hill i ski switch 80% of the time and haven't had a problem, its all in the skier not he binding, if you suck so do your bindings, cause they'll always be comin off

 
just make sure the wings are adjusted...use a notecard, in the shop u use somethhin like that it ISNT a notecard but the same thickness. take it and put it under the toe of your boot on the front of the binding. You want to be able to fit the card through not right through and not super tight just enough that the card is snug between the boot and the plate of the binding....does that sound right shop people? I think i got it....also make sure the wings touch the boot 'snug' and then loosen a 1/4 turn i think correct me if im wrong...

mine have problems alot like jackamo and the other guy. switch and anything remotly powder landings can realase even though my din is high. i dunno. not that good. should have kept the looks. like i represent and show off all of my gear EXCEPT my bindings

i just dont see how all u guys hate salomon, i mean abma, cr, wilson, olenick, seth, and a buncha others use salomon bindings and they dont hate um sooo....

 
Pro team bindings are very different than the commercial bindings we all get, similar to the skis Salomon riders get.

Was wondering the folks with the 912 ti, if you were consistenly popping out landing switch? I'm asking because I just bought a pair of them (not mounted yet) and after reading all this.... and the various negative reviews about them on this site make me second guess my decision. Which can be a good thing.

 
in one year I broke off 2 heel pieces and 1 toe peice. Ive had nothing but problems with those bindings. always pre releasing...especially landing switch. The only way they seem to work is if I set them at 2 boot sizes too small. And yet...some people dont have any problems at all...weird.

that said, anyone wanna buy some skis? Selling my 175 Pocket rockets with 912's. Got 2 new pairs of skis comming, just need enough to buy some bindings. Ill let them go super cheap. Message me if interested.

Remember: If you're not centered when you land switch, you'll pop out of any binding at the heel. So if your switch landings involve leaning towards your binding's toe pieces and the front of your skis, you should probably think about fixing that before bitching about bindings.

Bahahaha... or, you could call it the 'elitist snob' cult. Anyways, my family already owns a country club, so no thanks.
