S7 for touring?

I'm really liking the looks of the s7 and i'm in need of a bomber ski with touring capabilities, basically a ski that i would take on a trip out west so i could shred the resort but also get into the bc a little. i would throw dukes on them and have a bomber setup. but, with that being said, the whole setup weighs ~14 pounds, which is quite a lot to drag up a hillskis weigh around 4000 grams which is like 8.8 lbs. i'm also a little nervous about how they would hold while skinning, if they would grab well or make it more work because there's only about 140cm's actually touching the snow. i'd really like feedback from people who have rocked this setup or toured on s7's or have friends who tour on s7's, etc..
as for other bindings, barons aren't light enough to make me get those and sacrifice the stronger binding and good din range and i have major pre-release issues with fritschi, i've tried different models with different boots and i always lose skis just riding along. i'm 5'11, 170 lbs, and i ski hard. i'm favoring the s7 over jj because it's stiffer and designed for skiing forwards more and i don't ride switch much and i can get it in a 188 but bc.com is sold out of 185 jj'sso any help is appreciated, thanks

I just got some JJ's mounted with Dukes, and it is my favorite ski setup ever....no issues with skinning either bro. The S7 is going to be a good bet because you can't get your hands on the JJ anymore...Armada is straight up sold out of the 185, I called them and asked when I was hunting a pair down. I wanted to proform the S7 but TRossi is sold out too, so I bought the JJ straight up. I love the Duke/JJ combo, and I am betting you will love the S7/Duke combo, the s7 is heavier though, and really I don't think it is much stiffer than the JJ. I really would like to get out on the s7 to compare it, so review it if you hook this up brotha. If the s7 skis like I have heard you will love it...don't hesitate and buy.

thanks for the helpas far as i know the s7 and jj are similar weights, i can't get an exact weight on the jj but the s7 weighs 4000 g per pairalso i like the idea of the s7 because it's definitely stiffer and more of a charger, i rode both skis and the s7 wanted to go faster

update
188 s7 weighs 10 lbs a pair185 jj weighs 8.5 lbs a pair
185 jj won't really be around until next season and i like the shape of the s7 better. will that extra 1.5 lbs be super bitchy on the way up?

If you can find a set of JJ's go for them. That is a bitchin' ski. They are also almost two pounds lighter which will feel great to you after a 3 hour tour.

the only reason i would get the jj's is because of the lightness and price, i don't ride switch much and i have bents for bc jibbing and fucking around, i want this to be a bomber ass ski and i love everything about the s7 except for the weighti like the shape and purpose of the s7 way more

Yeah, I can vouch for JJ's as well. I've got mine mounted up with Barons becaues they're lighter and cheaper. SUCH a SICK set-up. First year doing BC touring for me, and I couldn't be happier!

I'm sure you'll be fine either way you go.

i called armada, they put me in touch with a few stores, out of the 4 one of them had one pair of 185's in stock, i bought them

so lets recap on your skis alex, you now have:
185 JJs182 bacons with fks179 hellbents with fksprophet 100 with dukes
got enough pow skis?

i don't have prophet 100's with dukes anymore.....
i have:185 jj with dukes182 bacon with fks179 bents with p15180 tahoes with fks
fuck park skis.....

I have never skinned on a pair of s7's nor have I ridden them but I would get them just because of how sick they look plus from what i hear they rip everything up.

no for multi-day tours i'll use a dynafit setup but i got jj's with dukes, whole setup is about 13.5 lbs
