S video cord/ macbook

I have a macbook and want to either dual moniter or have the abilty to use my TV as my moniter.. the main reason for this is the sling box im setting up b/c im leaving for school in a week... now is there any way that i can hook it up to the TV moniter without the S video cord input on my macbook?

the way i know you can do it

is buy going and droping like 50 bucks on cords

mini-dvi to dvi and a dvi to what ever goes into your tv.

mini-dvi to dvi will let you plut into your computer monotor.

your assuming that he has a digi-cam of some sort that allows pass through

i think that you can get some sort of tv tuner like teachers have for demonstrating stuff on the tv from the computer
