Rutgers suicide

saw this on the news this morning. i think they said that the guys who taped him should be held responsible

I was gonna post this earlier.

This shit is fucked up. Those kids should be tried for manslaughter!

yeah its the most fucked up shit i've ever heard. They should definitely be held responsible in my opinion.

thats so fucking sad, they deserve to go to prison for 10 years. i dont know how they can sleep knowing that their actions caused somone so much emotional trauma that he killed himself. its not just bullying its a hate crime. i dont feel the least bit sorry for them, i feel sorry for the family of the departed

I dont think he should charged with anything. What about everyone else who has ever killed themselves? Those who leave a note explaining why they did it. Do they go after those people who they claim is their fault? no.

Yeah its fucked up to film and upload that to the internet, but to charge him is way over the line.

The guy was doing gay stuff and it got out. If he couldnt handle it it was his problem for not being able to deal with the repercussions of doing such a thing.

And before any of you say that im insensitive I do think its a tragedy that he killed himself. Not how anyone but a Samurai should go. I just think if he stuck it out, it would have died down and just been a really bad joke every once in a while thats brought up

the problem here is that if he were straight, his roommate wouldn't have cared. There shouldn't be any "repercussions" for being gay...

the problem is that it wasn't a quiet matter, his "friend" made him into a human pinata, and the student body took turns beating him until he snapped. so to speak

Considering he didn't manslaughter, he shouldn't be charged with manslaughter. Makes sense right? How about invasion of privacy?

I'm not actually laughing I realize it's a tragedy. The lol thing in my post was like he should just laugh it off. If this happened to me I'd shrug it off and eventually laugh about it especially once I've sued the room mate or whoever filmed him. I just have no respect for people who commit suicide. It is the ultimate pussy move. The only time I'd condone it is if your going to die anyway like the people who jumped from the twin towers or someone who is terminally ill and is suffering.
I just think this kid over reacted so much.

I'm not so sure it could be classified as a hate crime, but I don't have all the evidence. I think his roommate would have still broadcasted the video even if it were a heterosexual relationship; however, I don't know.

why would his roommate broadcast heterosexual affairs? thats not nearly as funny as two guys doing it...

Blame society for telling the kid that being gay is something to kill yourself over. If his parents and teachers hadn't fucked with his head a thousand times harder before this, he wouldn't have killed himself.

Then the guy who killed himself is also to blame because he see's being gay just as negatively/embarrassing as the guy who filmed him. He should be smarter than that and realize it's not a big deal to be gay.
He should be charged with invasion of privacy or whatever it's called but definitely not manslaughter. Having to live with this the rest of his life is punishment enough

I'm sorry my opinion isn't the same as yours. If there is anything I can do to make it up to you, please don't hesitate to ask.

"Mr. Clementi referred to his mother’s work as a nurse, his love of music and theater, his fair skin and red hair"

its messed up. i like about 30 minutes from there and my friend is an emt for rutgers. ill try and find out some shit

do you think youre fucking funny breaking out a fucking NS joke? Some kid took his own life because of insensitive assholes, much like yourself.

“There should be punishment, but five years of jail is extremely harsh. I’m sure these children did not intend for this child to go out and commit suicide.”

i kinda agree with this, but some of the comments he posted on twitter were harsh

Your right, there shouldnt be. But if he had it in his mind it was a bad thing. Like Arabian said, Blame society. If he was just gay though and didnt care who knew it then there would be no problem. You see what im saying? Its kind of hard for me to explain it

RIP to that kid dude. Nobody deserves that, equality should be dominant in this society. Everybody is different.

"Mr. Ravi had made references to his roommate’s homosexuality in Twitter posts. Even before they arrived on campus, Mr. Ravi sent a message on Aug. 22 that he had “found out my roommate is gay,” and included a link to JustUsBoys.com.

On Sept. 19, he told his Twitter followers that he had set up a webcam in their room and then watched from Ms. Wei’s room, adding that he saw Mr. Clementi “making out with a dude.” "

sounds like a fucking hate crime to me

Sounds like Mr. Gayboy should have been a little less retarded. Get embarrassed? Kill self. This does not make sense-- if you get embarrassed, man the fuck up and take what you deserve.

The guy who posted the shit is at no fault. Freedom of speech/expression are absolute, other people's reactions to them are not something you can A) predict B) give two shits about.

I have sympathy for the dead guy's family and friends, but NONE whatsoever for him. Suicide deserves no sympathy, ever, for the suicidee.

"look at what a fag my roommate is,"

I'm a fucking retarded?

And did you read the last paragraph you wrote before you clicked reply because your contradicting yourself. And since when is being gay illegal? You don't agree with homosexuality? No one asked your opinion on the matter so keep it to yourself you "fucking retarded."

OK smart-alec. I already said that I don't have the evidence. My comment was simply a response to the comment that I quoted which contains no mention of the quote you included.

i agree, committing suicide is absurd.

as far as the charges that can be brought against him? really just privacy issues. a civil lawsuit will be filed, it is unfortunate that justice can't be served in this situation though :/

You should not be an American. Never have I seen such an ignorant post. You think he deserved this for being gay? Why should he man up and take anything he deserved? Being gay is not a punishment, nor nor is it something to be embarrassed about. You fail to realize that SOME people don't want their intimate relations privy to the outside world, because not only is it ILLEGAL, an invasion of one's CONSTITUTIONAL PRIVACY, but in this situation, his family could have not known, families seem to like DISOWNING gay kids in the US. So being intimate with someone he liked and having it broadcast to the world, possibly alienating all friends and family should be his punishment for being Gay? Get fucked.

Get so fucked.

i've gotta say, while its terrible that the kid ended up killing himself, the people should be charged with a hate crime at the very most. This guy was obviously way more delicate than a normal person, and there's no way the two people could have known that something so small could drive the kid to suicide. it was something that most gay people could have just laughed off, or confronted the room mate over, or at least done something about, but instead this one person ended being so traumatized that he killed himself. i never would've called that outcome. and now these two kids have the fact that they indirectly caused the death of another person over their heads for the rest of their lives for something they thought was a harmless prank.

Tyler graduated from my high school this past year, super talented musician for sure. So what if he was gay, fuck the haters. He didn't deserve this.

I saw him in the halls every day and had watched him perform at school concerts and never had I seen him do anything to harm or offend anyone. He kept to himself and was super good with what he loved to do most, being a musician.
