Rusty Skis.....

Here's my problem: I have two pairs of skis (1080's and t9), yet i only use my 1080's....well i spent a week in tahoe and left my pair of t9's only my car rack the whole time...when i took them off the rack last night when i got home i noticed that all the sides of them are all rusty and shitty..... what should i do??

most the time it will come off as soon as you hit snow...

grab a diamand stone and start rubbing the rust off, use it on the sides of the edge not the point our you will dull it, then use a diamond stone i prefer the blue one (medium course) ones you have it seem clear of rust you can use a file and try and get the remander of, repeat the diamond file after using the regular file, whatever doesn't come off ussually will after a day of skiing

simpleist solution if it doesn't come off on the the snow is steel wool

dont use a file or diamond stone or anything hard like that. get a gummy stone instead which is kinda similar to an eraser with sand in it and it works wonders on rust. if you use the files they will most likely fuck up your edges if you dont know what you are doing.

file them down with something metak then wax em or just bring em to a shop

I have Armada AR5's and they are glorious

take them to a shop and have them sharpen the edges

no best and easiest thing dip aluminum foil in water and rub it on the rust will literally fall off without hurting youre edges at all dont ask me how but it works then just dry em

SKI

ski on them, treat your skis like shit, and then bitch about how they dont hold up. works fer me

if people dont like what ive created, fuck em, because somebody else does-TANNER

it kinda makes me wonder why skis rust....like when you really think about it skis are meant to be in the snow at all times, why don't they design them not too..................just a thought

cause the metal they use as to be sharpened and be strong... if they make it stainless it will take off the rustproof part when you sharpen em and if you use alu or rustproof shit its usually weaker adn can freeze faster..... treat youre skis well and bring towelie with you to dry em when youre done

titanium edges would solve that, too stiff though maybe? too expensive? who knows.

If a ski goes into a shop for a tune-up and comes out with rust on the edges, the tech will be in shit. There is my advice.
