Rusty Edges

whats the go? After a few days skiing i always end up with rusted edges and after i every day i wipe down my skis and put them in a drying room.. Why does this happen? I always try to get rid or the rust with a file but i wanted to know what i can do to help stop it and the easiest way to get rid of it.. Thanks NS

im pretty sure it happens because, when skiing and in cold weather your skis get very cold. Then when you bring them inside and its warm and condensation (or whatever) creates moisture which rusts the edges. Let them Warm up a bit and then dry them off. I could be wrong but iive always thought thats what causes it

I used some solution I found in my garage, and just wiped the edges with it.

Worked alright.

its almost unavoidable, but its really no big deal it comes off in a run or two

Ya it does not really matter at all.

it comes off in a run or so. when you clip in, just move your feet back and forth to get it off too.

best way to fight it is to wipe your skis off with a towel or paper towel when you get home.

I just thought it could be like a burr and catch on a rail and rip the edge out. ?
