The Kozelsky volcano is proving a proving a popular destination for

domestic summer skiers. And, in an indication of a desire to boost the

area's international appeal, a summer service of direct flights between

Kamchatka and Anchorage in Alaska was announced earlier in July (2008)

by the Russian airline Vladivostock Avia.
