Russia has invaded Georgia

Sometime this morning Russian tanks and planes entered into Georgia. Russia is claiming that it is intervening with some genocide that's been apparently happening and the Georgian President has announced that their country is under attack. If you look back at the history between Russia and Georgia you will simply see Russia flexing it's muscles at it's pro-American pro-NATO former satellite.

Not good news at all.
 
i don't think people realize how shitty this situation is. the soviet union never completely left russia.
 
holy shit if america goes in it smells of world war 3. russia against america... a long feared battle. canada would have to join america with europe and then probably the chinese would join russia and then every one else joins in and it becomes epic, america better not join in
 
i think its amazing that russia has floating tanks and the cajones to take on the dirty south

but really, yeah its a terrible situation
 
that makes no sense, Canada will never join in a war they are not concerned in. Europe has nothing to do in this either. And China has more important thing to do than fight a war.

It just comes to see how everyone ops for violence instead of talking it out. The world sickens me.
 
i was watching those tanks roll in on CNN, looks like the russians really want to fight over a 1500 square mile territory...

Unless Russia decided to invade US soil, and we're ignoring our own pleas for help.

But yeah, this could be no good. This might spark other breakaway regions to join in against Russia, and we could see this quickly spread and get worse.
 
what really pisses me off is that this is rolling across the bottom of the screen on cnn while they show a 9 year old tattoo artist
 
Has anyone told the US military that Georgia is just a short Humvee ride north of Iraq? I mean...if they are in the neighborhood, whats another war to them? Might as well kill 2 or 3 birds with 3 stone

Russia have been sending thgere Bears(Aircraft) to spy on british navy ops in off northern scotland, this happened during the last cold war, its heating up for sure.
 
No its more like, hey look we can do this, what you going to do about it? Then we send some fast jets up to scare them away.
 
Well, maybe shitty spying. But really, it'd be much more effective to just spy with satellites. Having bombers fly these missions is a) training for the Russian air force and b) a sign to the world that Russia is once again in the financial position to maintain an operable, proficient military. It doesn't mean they're gearing up for war with anybody, especially the UK and US.

Seriously, though, this isn't a big deal. All it means is that the Russians can now afford to fly missions again - and it's pretty sweet for British and American fighter pilots...I hope I get to intercept a Bear someday.

 
They will defect you immediatly if you actually shoot anything at it during peactime, then it would be world war 3.

- Georgian president Mikhail Saakashvili asks parliament to declared martial law.

- All men aged 18-50 called to reserve duty as Georgia recalls 1,000 troops from Iraq.

- Government institutions in Georgian capital of Tbilisi are evacuated as the president declares a state of war.

- Georgian town of Gori badly hit by Russian fighters.

- Russian general confirms two of its jets were shot down. Georgia claims one pilot was captured.

- Units of Russian paratroopers have “completely liberated” the South Ossetian capital of Tskhinvali ---

- Russian bombers earlier devastated a Tskhinvali apartment block killing five people.

- Local hospitals are overflowing with casualties. The region’s power, water and telephones are cut off.

- 30,000 refugees have fled the embattled region into Russia.

- Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov warned Georgia’s arms suppliers they will be held accountable for the South Ossetia situation.

DEBKAfile’s sources say this is directed at the United States and Israel.

- The two-day death in South Ossetia combat is estimated at 1,600.

- Russian jets struck Georgia’s Black Sea port of Poti, hitting container tanks, a naval base and military logistical center near a major pipeline from Baku.

i just went through every news channel on my digital cable, and stayed on each one for like 1-2 minutes, and it was not even mentioned. but i saw like 5 channels analyzing that paris hilton twat's presidential tape shit. that pisses me right off.
 
Too bad Georgia started the violence.... If they wouldnt have attacked South Ossentia then Russia wouldnt have intervened and kicked their ass. Georgia pretty much picked a fight they can't win. Georgia just wanted to win back South Ossentia, when in reality the people there want to be annexed into Russia. If anything, most of the fault lies with Georgia, not Russia.
