Running Sucks

ahahaha, mammothpunks yeah that did sound pretty bad, i admit.

but we, in case you didnt know, use the metric system up here, and there is no such thing as a mile in the metric system.

take up road biking. its so much better than running, i know, i run xcountry and track, plus its more fun

Not a part of their machine

yeh last year was my first year running varsity cross country and track. i'm a junior now and i'm going to be one of the faster guys on our team, but i'm having trouble getting pumped up for the season. if you run at a high level for a long time it takes a toll on you and you don't want to do it anymore, you know?

best times: mile - 4:46, 5k - 16:48

my level of radness... it just can't... be quantified.

I think running's sick man, I do it 5 times a week (probably because I suck at all summer sports like skateboarding, etc.)

Mile: 5:10

2 Mile: 10:58

5k: 19:43

10k: 42:09

Your guys' 5k's are all really fast, you should stick with it and win local races.

Running sucks but strap your skis to your backpack and go hiking with an out of shape friend.....you won't hate it quite so much

Abba Zabba, you my only friend

i cant run too well, i go a mile then my back starts hurtn, go another half, i get tired, go another half my knee hurts, now it hurts real bad like when i twisted it skiing.

You should never run unless you really have to, because it just isn't cool. I mean, how stupid do people look when they run down the street?Walking is the way to go. In fact no, thats too hard, travel by car.

Don't be a toad, follow the ski-way code

were any of you people from Canada at OFFSA cross country this year?

i used to hate running. but then running became one of the more enjoyable onland training options during the crew season. im pretty sure my crew team runs more than the cross country team.

im on my schools cross country team also and i guess its boring in the fact that not alot goes on during races and it doesnt take a lot of skill just agility and endurance

ive ran cross country all 4 years in highschool. I ran track my freshman year but i didnt like it because i got reall bored running 16+ laps every meet. I think i made a good decision not doing track past my freshman year because it didnt burn me out as much. This past season was my best season yet it wasnt very fun. If i would have kept doing track i dont think i would have wanted to run for all 4 years i get burnt out fast on most things....except skiing. My best times....Freshman year track:Mile 4:52 2 Mile: 10:28

Senior Cross country 5k: 15:52

i used to hate it like when i was in cc and track my first year but now that i do it with my friends its sooooo much more fun and i love to just run around town from place to place. like i could get a good 10 mile run in and not feel bored

i ran the mile in 4 minutes and 37 seconds. i literallly died afterwards. it sucked balls. but then i was like yea. my fastest time. and i havent beet it yet. that was at the beginning of summer

u know wat else sux about running. "runners are always the ones who find dead bodies. u never hear a story like i was watching porno and eating icecream. i got up to get the lube and i saw a foot." dave attel from skanks for the memories

im in the exact same situation, ive run xc all three years and im in track right now, im supposed to be the "leader" of the team next year, and a little background of our team is pretty much that we dominate our conference, in hte past 21 years we've won it like 18 years. The only reason im doing track is for cross country, and in the summer i have to get up every fucking morning and run at least 8 miles, 8 short day, 13 is a long day. And if any of you know anything about running over the country, i live in illinois which has the best field of runners, York wins nationals just about every years, theyve won state for like the past 20 years straight, im just so sick of all the bullshit my coach gives me, hes the most manipulative bastard ever.

hahaha, i loved that thing. it was fun to see how far you could go and then when you sprint at the end and then fall to the floor gasping for air. those things were so much fun. it sucked though if you were the last one and everyone was watching you. and they all wanted to go. beep tests were fun though.

i do indoor n outdoor track, i like it cause i deff see huge results which helps in other sports, and also if you are real fast its awesome to run so yeah

i did cross country my freshman year but luckily i realized the next spring how dumb it was so im not gonna be stuck in your situation

yeah dude I hear ya I've been running for 5 years, at the national level. And its boring as shit I tried quitting once but I have trouble giving up on stuff.

The only part I really love is winning races and that seems to be pritty rare at the higher level races.

I'm personally thinking of quitting, but it's hard to let go of something your good at and used to love.

haha look i posted back in the day.. but anyways i love running. I'm wayyy more of a jumper/sprinter, but I still run from time to time.

i was there. Sadly i fell in the water pit and clip a steeple on my second last lap so I got a DNF. But I was in 3rd and second for the first 4 laps. It waas a great way to end my highschol career.
