Running Away from ski patrol

I haven't had a run-in with ski patrol in years, mainly because I don't ski at Vail resorts. I'm also on the east coast so ducking ropes isn't a privilege I get often because they're usually just grass and shit. Anyhow, I feel like if I got caught by ski patrol I could just ski into the woods for a while until they decide to not follow me anymore. I'm probably better than them anyways so what stopping me? Just switch hoodies at the bottom then go back to the lift. Maybe it's a shitty or stupid thing to do but I wouldn't risk my season pass by stopping for them.

Thoughts?

Please Newschoolers, regale us of your adventures of being chased by ski patrol and escaping (or being caught). Someone will make the best story into a movie, I bet.

Yellow jackets, you can deff get away from. Ski patrol will have no problem catching you.

That's true in western resorts. I've never seen a ski patroller out east who can ski anything but groomed.

I mean, remember they have radios and know every trail and woods section. So if they get a good description you're probably fucked, they can just call in someone to wait at the bottom for you.

Just don't be a dick tbh. 95% of patrollers just want to ski, drink parking lot beers, and avoid annoying kids/paperwork. In my experience, apart from a couple summit county resort yellowjackets, patrollers couldn't care less how hard you send, they just want you to do it in a way that doesn't risk hurting other skiers or makes awkward situations with liability insurance

I patrol at two mountains on the west coast. Patrol does not care if you are

ripping it up as long as you dont smoke some kid at mock chicken. Don’t know how it is out east or at vail resorts but as long as you can talk it out with patrol you should be all good.

years ago I ducked a rope early season to go ski some trees I knew were in fine shape (they were only closed because it was early season). at one point I stopped to take a photo cause I was in an aspen grove and I thought it looked really nice when a patroller skied above me on a service road. they yelled at me and told me to hike up to them since I was only like ten or so feet down. I told them I would hike and put my glove back on and just skied away through the trees. The tree run I was skiing dropped right off into some rich neighborhood so I popped my skis off and ran through the neighborhood and then tried to walk really casually on the sidewalk in town. in retrospect, I don't think they bothered chasing but I gave up on a pow day the next day because I was paranoid they would recognize my outfit and pull my pass.

You said it yourself, bro. You ski some dogshit hill back-east with volunteer NSP kooks who are on a power-trip. "Outrunning patrol" is so fucking lame. Why would you be proud of out-running some boomer in his 50's? Get fucked.
