Alright I feel like this thread needed to be made. First off if you haven't listened to Run the Jewels yet you must go do so. I personally think this album is one of the best produced hip hop/ rap albums of the year thus far. What do you think?? [video]

Very similar to RTJ 1, I felt. The production was spot on, the lyricism/vocals were gnarly again, but it wasn't anything quite so ground-breaking as their first album.

I would agree that it draws very many similarities to RTJ1. To me though RTJ1 was much more of a joke and an album made for fun between Killer Mike and El-P. Now that they found out people actually care about Run the Jewels they made a follow up record. RTJ2 still has some of those funny lyrics, but there are also so much more serious topics on this record. For example when Killer Mike talks about selling drugs to a pregnant woman and how terrible he felt about it. RTJ2 also has so much more to offer as far as production goes to me as well. These elements to me are why I think RTJ2 is that much better to its counterpart.
