I am not sure about this cause it is word of mouth. but i was told there is going to be a indoor skiing arena being built in colorado, maybe golden? but with some new revolutionary 'carpet snow' that reacts better than anything else on the market. anyone else know something about this?

pc come out and ski with the freezing point kids in indiana, the ohio freestyle kids in ohio, or any other groups from around the area and tell me there's no talent

I think pc is right and you are all retarded. If a new type of business such as indoor skiing wanted to open its first dome wouldnt they put it in the center of skiing. The place with biggest market. If they put it in west virginia no one would go except the few die hard kids. Colorado has the biggest market for such a business to open.

k, the few good skiers in indiana/the east would LOVE that place... but think about it, nobody in boston or indianapolis would go out and ski, in denver/SLC there would be people because everybody in those citys ski...

...as to the rumor, yes i heard that too, in denver, opening summer 2005...

Its not about ability are they going to have dubble back dimmond trails in there? no, well maybe park. So ability is not relvent, its about where the most people would go ski it.

Looks like Jeremy Slade and company need to think about a few things first that may very well lead to the parks demise ie water usage, placing the park in Castle Rock instead of the I-70 corridor, and the fact that the park will shut down in freezing temps or more than 2 or 3 inches of snow.

I think Heritage Square in Golden would be a perfect hub. It should also probably be covered so you can hit it in the winter instead of driving up I70 (believe me, people would do it).

lets think for a second.....oh yeah colorado doesnt have year round skiing. and what do most pople that live there like to do? SKI. so it makes perfect sence to put it where the market is.

I think castlerock is ththeir second biggest mistake. The first is definitely the water usage issue.

Slade stated to the Castle Rock board that there would only be a slight amount of evaporation...It doesn't take much to get the locals in CO whining about water waste, as it shouldn't.

As far as putting a park like this in Ohio. Well, you need to look at this from a business standpoint. These guys are doing this for money. Why would they buld a 5 Million dollar plus facility in the middle of the sticks in Ohio so five kids can have a jump to hit in August?

In the Denver area, youre going to see a ton of junkies coming out of the woodwork to get some turns in in the middle of summer.

Another thing I see as a mistake is the ticket prices. Lets face it, we're looking at about 400 vertical feet of wet carpet and a rope tow. A $29 lift ticket might get me there once in a while, but I'm definitely not going to be a regular. This place should also be targeting those who are less fortunate. Getting families on skis who otherwise probably would never have travelled as far as Summit County should be a big priority and potentially huge money maker.

Otherwise, I think this facility should be considered on about the same level as an exclusive skate park like the Vans park. $10-15/day or hourly.

Frankly, i dont give a damn about the place in colorado anymore. i mean at first, i was excited for you guys, but shit, this turned out to be a thread with a bunch of people acting like they've skiied ohio, and know there isnt a big scene here. or that we arent as good as any other riders. Im just gonna ask all of you a question, on a regular day, how many people do you ride with. Out west evcerything is handed to every one of you....the oerfect groomers, the most cutting edge rails. You dont know waht its like for your riders to be the park crew, and getting stoked on everything. all i have to say is watch out for the ohio freestyle vid, adn then shut your damn mouths actingg like you know ohio riding, and how many riders are here. watch out for fp's new vid, bc each and every one of them can tear your asses apart up and down the hill. moguls, straightlining, park anything. They build there own shit, and dont have someone doing everything for them. It just pisses me off so much that we have such a killer scene in the midwest, and many of you dont even know anything about our riding, yet you act like we're inferior just bc it doesnt cost 6oo for a pass, and we dont have the same size parks, and we land on ice. Now, i dont know all of your stories, so cant generalize this comment completely, bc who knows some of you may have just moved out west. But if you dont know our scene. dont comment on it

ummm midwest? they have marquette which is DOPE.....but you def need a park in ohio for the summmer...the most profitable place would be new york considering they have the second largest population and the MOST SKI RESORTS IN THE COUNTRY!!!so im gonna put my money onnew york having the most skiers...not percentage wise but just numbers

Colorado has one of the fasteset growing populations in the country.

As far as that kid from the 'midwest' goes...Some people, like me, moved here from places like Maine. So sont tell me about ice and bad conditions. Also, passes in CO are $300 for five mountains, not $600.

It still wouldnt make any sense to build a summer park in Ohio.
