Ruckus

So heres the dealio

My college provides Ruckus, which if you dont know you can dl large amounts of music for free with it. But heres the dilemna. When installing Ruckus it notifies you that it has to change some computer information, namely it registers your computer with a unique address. To me this sounds like if you dl it that they can track you if you ever dl anything on a torrent, limewire, p2p etc...

Any words on this?

I really doubt that's legal for them, and I can't really think why they'd want to. I've had Ruckus since like September and have done a fair amount of torrent stuff, so I'm pretty sure you got nothing to worry about.

umass had that too. but its kind of dumb because they have it set up so you cant put it onto an ipod

assuming tunebite gives your ruckus files a little strip down, taking away silly DRM codes much agreed.

you need to downgrade to WMP 10 or get 11 beta 2 in order to use fairuse4 which does the same thing

my threads. I get my .edu account in a month and will need to know how to get ruckus onto my ipod. I know u can do the ruckus to a cd then cd to itunes method. but is there any other ways? I think the post above me was a way to do it but im not sure. can anyone tell me. Thanks

ya you can. you just have to get a transfer program like FairUse
