RTC 4?

At first I thought they were trying to spread it out over the season cept this is just crap now...

yeah i thought they were sweet, but now im kinda burnt outon em, cause when ever a new one comes out im all disapointed and stuff.

dude i think the entire freeskier office hit a time warp and dissaperaed...everything on there site except like news hasnt changed since like SIA

Here is the deal....

The editors of the Road Trip Challenge were given a certain amount of time to compile the footage into 8 edits. One year later, only 3 edits have been produced and countless hours have been poured into the project. Given that film editing is time consuming and individuals like Mike Thomas have a job beyond the RTC, the Freeskier executives cannot afford to pay hundreds of hours in editing time for the benefit of the online ski community. Rather than continue to throw money away editing the RTC, Freeskier executives pulled the plug on the program and applied their resources to things like event coverage, industry news, and athlete profiles.

Unfortunately, the RTC was one of the most interesting, comical, and exciting edits Freeskier has ever produced. The entire concept behind pitting two teams against one another in a 2 week road trip was downright groundbreaking. Each athlete, cinematographer, and photographer is a unique character and meshed well together in the edits.

Given the response from the first 3 episodes, Freeskier genuinely failed by not producing an entire season of RTC. With any luck, the upcoming seasons will bring something similar to the table. However, without funding, I can almost guarantee episode 4 of RTC will not be produced.

thats gay. You would think maybe they would let people know instead of just have people wait and wait. That is the most entertaining thing they have ever produced. And the only really original thing. I guess they just want more threads about how much better Freeze was.

do the people at freeskier ever think that maybe, just maybe, they should stop "pouring their funds into events and athlete profiles" and start putting their funds into something fresh and entertaining, like the RTC? That maybe a overwhelming staleness and lack of creativity is what makes people complain about their publication?

i forgot his name, but that asian photographer (really sick photographer just cant remember his name) said it best. there were more glamorous events he could have gone to during RTC, bigger comps that happened that he missed, but during RTC, he felt like he was really a part of skiing.

maybe freeskier should think about that before they cut something original like RTC in favor of some boring ass interviews that I might find in reader's digest.

My mom actually had Mike Thomas as a student at Fitchburg High School. In the first episode where they have that lady park the team car, that is Mike's mom and it is shot right outside the high school. The officer that "gives her the ticket" is the cop that is at the high school everyday and his name is actually Leroy Jackson like they say in the edit. Mike's mom is the secretery at the high school. I actually think my mom sent that edit out to all the faculty as a joke showing Sue's (mikes mom) driving skills

(usless but interesting tidbit right there)

from the thread you wouldve found if youda searchbarred.

Well first off. Shay Williams really sick Asian photographer? You must be talking about Eric Seo, who was not on the RTC.

Shay Will certainly whined about the East Coast enough during the RTC that I'm surprised he didn't actually leave to go to those "glamorous events" or "bigger comps." Please don't believe everything you hear kids. Phrases like "fuck the east coast" and "why did I leave Colorado" were regular statements from him throughout the trip. He might take decent pics, but his attitude on the trip sucked even worse than mine. No hate intended, I just want to set some shit straight.

Secondly, sponsors fund Freeskier.

You'll learn that.

When the sponsors are paying for other things like event coverage and athlete profiles, NOT RTC, it's tough to justify spending all the extra time/money needed to film/edit/produce stuff like the RTC. It sucks for sure, but that's business. I certainly feel screwed out of two weeks of my life since that shit has been dropped, but whatever shit happens. It was still a blast and I'm really stoked to have been a part of it.

Mike T. told me that he still had plans for the RTC. Now I'm not sure what that means exactly but hopefully we'll see more at some point. (There is plenty of ridiculous footage left to finish off the series trust me).

Freeskier needs to get their act together...cutting RTC from their budget is just another thing that lowers their reputation
