ride the pine = sit on the bench. its a hockey term.

now watch me hi-jack this thread to tell a story:

i rowed back in highschool. rec rowing though. it was sick except for being on the water by5:30 every monring. that maeant setting one early fucking alarm. since it was rec though no-one gave a shit, me and this othere dude just chilled out with coffee and made all the younger kids set shit up. Awesome, especially because we were in grade 12 at the time, and the other kids were mostly girls, in grade 9 (which made for some fun on the water....it took our coaches quite a while to figure out that when ben and kieran both rowed the same side, the boat went around in circles because we were collectively about twice as strong as the other six people) I remember we had a tournament in montreal to end off our "season" and we were meant to hang out and put boats in the water and cheer on our schools teams and shit. but we were racing in the olympic pool, which as any montrealer knows is temtpingly close to the casino de montreal, which is as it turns out, in fact open at three on a tuesday afternoon. and they took fake ids. two hours, some drinks, and 20 bucks of gambling later, we remembered oh yeah, shit, we in a rowing tournament arent we?

we made it back in time, but unnaccountably failed to win.

rowing is kickass.

it is alot of work though. from rowing alone i lost 20 pounds this summer. once i stopped, i gained 8 back

rowing is a sport where you row a shell, those long narrow boats. and riding the pine is not a hockey term, its from any team sport

rowing is in a skiiny boat called shell. it can have 1, 2 ,4 or 8 people. and either 1 or 2 oars each.

your feet are strapped in and your seat called the "slide" can slide forwards and backwards, giving you a very long stroke.

they fly because of how skinny and long they are.

Do rowing machines count?

I pwn those 3 days out of the week. Ive always been interested in getting into rowing though, maybe next year.
