Route 201 Alta/Snowbird Access Road Closings?

How often does it close? We're catching a flight in Salt Lake on Thursday, leaving Alta aroud 7- 7:30 in the morning, and there are 7-11 inches forcasted for both Wednesday, and then 7-11 again Wednesday night, what are the chances of it being open?
 
idk man have you looked at the weather lately? theres 5 to 9 falling on thursday, so with almost 2 ft max predicted for Wednesday, id be suprised if the road was open untill late thursday morning if at all, theres a good chance it wont reopen till friday morning.

we just got almost 2 ft in a day and a half last week and the road wasnt open till 9ish the next day, im only judging on my opinion so others may think diff. but theres a chance it could be interlodged from wednesday into friday morning, so be prepared, good luck
 
I suggest leaving the night before if you're worried. That really isn't that much, it really all depends on the avy danger, not how much snow falls. Just grab a cheap hotel in SLC for the night, safe choice.

And to you ^ the only reason it closed for so long because of avy danger, not the amount of snow.
 
yea thanks im completely aware its due to avy danger i was simply using the last storm as an example,either way point im tryn to et across is theres a god chance te road will be closed when you need to use it
 
okay so we're definitely leaving wednesday, should we try to drive out ASAP after skiing or will we have some time before the road would close, if it does?
