Yea I have done it. My friend did most of it, but we actually went through frame by frame on a lightsaber video that we made. It turned out sweet, but it took forever. I suggest setting hotkeys in PS to make it go faster. That way you only have to press one button instead of doing a whole long process.

yeah me and durhoward help this kid do it, if i get the chance i will upload some of it, its pretty cool, it was our version of Romeo & Juliet, pretty sweet

That looked pretty good, but it wont be complete without sound. YOu gotta get the lightsaber sounds in there and it will be sweet. And make a fake lightsaber out of PVC and spraypaint the blade red or some color that stands out so that you can use the magic wand and select it and add the glow and stuff. Thats what we did and it worked well.

yea ive done a fair bit of rotoscoping, but you hhave to be efficient to do it, first of all, photoshopping is ridiculous, unless you have a personal mexican bitch at home. i do all my rotoscopping in after effects and it comes out beautifully.

and for anyone whose like HUH? ROTOSCOPING? it simply means editing frame by frame.

Its an Adobe Program. You can do rotoscoping in it, but it doesnt look nearly as good as if you do it frame by frame. There are programs such as Shake 3 for Macs though that do rotoscoping very well.

 
Oh and we made a lightsaber battle to whoever said that. I will try and upload it soon if I can. Its pretty cool. Short though because it takes so fucking long to do.

 
durhoward, you can completely do frame by frame in after effects, and it turns out very good.

export the video as a filmstrip file in premiere and open it in adobe. u need a lot of ram if its long too.

 
Its in blending options or layer effects. YOu do outer glows and such. Probably some inner glow for the blade, or he could have just drawn a bright white line and put a colored outer glow on.
