Rossignol Turntable Coming Back?

Hopefully this hasn't been posted...

Is Rossi really bringing back the P18 style turntable? And I also heard they're going to offer wide brakes?

probably not. the rumor has been floating around for a long time, but it's just wishful thinking. i have heard rossi reps/officials say it is gone for good.

Ok, the rumor i was told was the old owner was buying/bought the company back and was pissed about the new 18 din binding. Anyways, confirmation would be dope sauce cuz i need new bindings...

why did they stop production in the first place? one of the most legit bindings ever created.

if they brought them back they would make lots of $$$.

they stopped making it because the mold broke and it cost more to fix than to design the new binding, thats what I heard

as for making them more money, not really, think of how many skiers actually need/desire that binding

there was a thread that looks like it just got deleted, some guy had 2010 ar6s. had new rossis with a turntable heel.

I don't see how it would cost less to make a new binding than make a new mold for an existing design.

Unless they also took into consideration the cost of manufacturing the binding. A turntable heel looks more complicated to put together than the design they have at the moment

There is no way you could tell if they were "new".

But there is a rumor of a limited suply of p18/fks18.

here is a pic of sps89's FKS's. the thread your talking about moved to gear talk.

those are beautiful. i would love to get a nice new pair, mine are sobeat up. but as for now, i believe it is just a rumor

Sorry to disappoint buddy but they are not "new" FKS.

They are old stock which has never been used, making them "brand new" but still exactly the same as any other fks out there. Im just lucky enough to get a new pair.

haha its all good, I didn't actually say there were new fks

I think I clarified in the post you quoted.

i'm gonna stop whoring this thread now

some new company should make turntable binders, someone like amplid or something, they'd make bank

there are rumors going around rossi that it's coming back, they would like to bring it back but there are obvious limitations

my guess is it will be reinstated

there is prolly a patent or sum BS, but we as newschoolers NEED this binding.

i some how managed to break a wing off the toe piece of mine, and now i have a different toe pieces and it pisses me off. i wish i bought 3 pairs when i got my last set off ebay...

do we really though? how many injuries are there because the binging didnt come out?

I think its a myth. my s810 works fine

how much do you weigh and how aggressively do you ski? The S810s I had were horrible. I smashed the brakes on them more times than I could count, and they were totalled 3 times. The only good thing that happened with them is they were warrantied 3 times. They also released at random times, not even off jumps, even with the DIN set at 8. They were on the first pair of twins I had, and I didn't ski very aggressively or go very big with them. Every other pair of them with a modicum of use that I've seen has had the same thing happen.

uhhh probably a lot, but for myself, when i come out of a trick on a 50 footer i dont like hitting the ground on my feet and for some fucked up reason totally unknown to me my ski comes of and i come close to breaking collarbones, i need one that doesn't come out and the turntable is the only good one i've heard of so far...

They are coming back. Check Logan's bindings in this:

Aspen Open Slopestyle from rossignol on Vimeo.

Orange and Black I hear.

im like 53kg so averageish weight. i guess i don't ski hard compared to guys. they do the job for me. I think i've got the titanium ones if that makes a difference

The titanium ones blow just as much as the others. I hate Soly bindings.

Never had fks' what was the huge benifit of them? They just work super good and never break?

The last year they made them they had a wide brake option available. The pair I have came with a wide brake, like a 110 brake I think. They were the FKS/P18 Squad ones.

ive got the look tt09's its the same exact heel as the fks becasue Look and rossi are the same thing. I broke two heel pieces this year before i bought these on ebay and these are the best binding i have ever had

my moms friend is a rep, quiksilver is selling rossi back to the regular owner, he saw a pair of the turntable binding selling for $500 on ebay and was like WTF!!!!! why would we not sell those? so they are bringing them back. this is all direct from a rossi rep

no my marker 12.0 pistons with abs polycarbonate plastic hell/toe housing are some of the best ones ive ridden!

don't say that. you get flamed on NS for saying you ride marker haha, even if you've never had a problem with them.

Quiksilver decided to sell Rossi at the beginning of last year, so that's not the case at all.

That Rossi rep should be fired if he thinks they would reproduce a binding mold based on a pair of bindings selling on ebay

i agree with you, at the risk of being flamed for it.

i find it funny how obsessed newschoolers are with oldschool gear.

the mold thing is bullshit there is obviously more then 1 mold because they produced tens of thousands of those bindings and one mold couldnt do that. Also rossy would obviously keep many extra molds...

And what about the original Full Tilt/Flexon molds? Were there obviously heaps of those?

Seriously - no.
