Rossignol Turntable Coming Back?

haha dude i was joshin. i wouldnt never buy markers that arent the racestock 18.0's or 20.0's and or jesters/griffons.

but fks are dope and if i need bindings i may be getting some of the new released ones

well fuck you haha.

i still love my markers. best bindings i've ever had, my old rossi bindings are heavy as shit.

word people only dislike em because people who take a 12 din binding in the backcountry and break them, or in a big park tehn break them tell people they are gonna break mad easy, ect... now no one likes marker haha

wtf man, do you ride markers? you suck at skiing because you ride crappy binding made of plastic. And the mounting pattern is narrower than a pencil. so there.

Oh wait, I just looked at my perfect skis setup and see jesters on one and griffons on the other. nevermind.

uhh...since when has Rossi made a heavy binding? The FKS are a race stock binding and are much lighter than my Dukes, and unlike Dukes, they aren't plastic pieces of crap that break after hitting a 7 ft. cliff.

To answer the question, YES. There definitely be a new fks binding on the market in the 10/11 season. Apparently it will be an updated turntable from what i hear, but there seems to be no specifics.

perhaps it's just the rossi skis then. heaviest set i've ever ridden, a major bitch to carry.

Given what they are made from, Compared to most other bindings, FKS are pretty light.

believe me, if they thought that bringing those bindings back would make them a lot of cash they would have done it a long time ago. just an FYI, park skiers are such a small part of the market, rossignol would not bring back a binding just or them.

FYI they are used by racers, big mountain skiers, and pretty much anybody who doesn't ski like a little girl (except Hatveit).

The cost of retooling would probably outweigh the return from bringing them back

Personally I think there are 500 pairs lying around somewhere and I think they would be promoted fairly quietly to race crowds etc...

this is my parade... and you're raining on it =(

o how i would love to mount my Hellbents with some FKS's.... (sigh)

having just rode some on my AR6s all year, i am a believer

when do (most) reps know shit anyways? Some atomic rep came to my work talking about chris "benchler".. It was awkward correcting him... Considering the ski is called the Bent Chetler..

But nonetheless, people should know that molds cost much more than you think... they're a large percentage of the production cost. Rossi obviously didn't see any point in taking an opportunity risk extending the FKS and rebuilding a mold, when they could produce a new binding and potentially increase their $$. Obviously they've seen what the demand is like for the bindings, so something is up..

The Rossi rep I spoke with confirmed that they were going to make a return.

wider mount pattern and wider breaks. booya.

Umh, I ski big mountain, that's why i want the binding back. THEY DON'T FAIL! The new ones do, my buddy was dropping a double stager and pushed the plastic plates underneath the new Rossignol 18 bindings through the ski. It was a no fall situation and the bindings failed, it really fucked him up. It sucks when you can stick a sick line and your bindings fall apart... and the chick that posted about s810's, GTFO!

Thats because most racers hardly look at what bindings they buy anymore.. with all this new plate technology, kids are just buying the skis and not looking at the bindings. If they knew anything, they'd be whining too..

when you race you dont want a falt binding like an fks, you want more leverage. the new fkx offers that. bindings arent a big deal to race kids as they dont rellease as often because they use wayyyy higher dins than freeskiers.

People saying freestyle/freeride skiers are the only ones kicking up a fuss about this - racers probably care more than most!

I was at a FIS level GS event last year and a HUGE majority had turntable heels on Rossi WC GS skis. Not the PX heel.

this is true, almost every one i know that races speed events wont mount px on their speed skis just p/fks.

and i also heard that they will have a wider mount pattern and have wide brakes as an option.

the reason why people are saying racers dont care, is bc there are no racers on this board!

im sure if there was a ns for racers there wud be the same up roar!

no, racers mount both bindings on a riser plate so they have the same leverage.

and every racer I know that rides rossi wants those bindings back.

true.
i am bad at conveying my ideas, i guess i emant racers jsut dont make as mch of a fuss about it, pretty much everyione like fks better, but they mostly have some from old skis, and dont make a point of buying old ones, unless they love tehm that much.

i know when i raced i never used rossi skis, cause they used to be soft and chattery so i never bought rossi bindings. but i would just get whatever teh shop had, as bindings werent as big adeal to me as things like boots, and flexpatterns on the skis.

I can't tell you how many times I lock on a rail and my ski just falls off. I have the dins cranked to 7, two higher than the shop recomended and they prerelease on everything. s810's have got to be the shittiest bindings ever made. Maybe it is because I way 10kg more than you but they are still plastic pieces of shit.

Sorry for the double post but I forgot to say I have s810's. May be I could sell them to jibber_amy and use the money towards some fks/turntables. Hopefully they come out again!

Sorry I don't crank my dins so much that I never come out. My point was that they are shitty bindings that prerelease and broke within five days of skiing them.
I don't mean that to sound like I want to start a fight or anything it is just that I wasted money on shitty bindings and it pisses me off to talk about them.

s810s are total rubbish, in saying that - it may not be the DIN making you prerelease.

I've heard from people that the new rossignol binding gets faster times on the race course because it pushes down on the heel more than the FKS.
they were already pretty much done developing the new ones when their mold "broke."
To bad there new bindings are heavy pieces of shit.
But wasn't there some patent issues with marker in regards to turntable heel pieces?

He probably has, but I've seen many pictures of him using either pivot 12s or pivot 14s. How he was able to throw down so hard without shattering those plastic bindings is beyond me. Maybe his footing is just that perfect.
