Rossignol Super 7

Anybody else ride this ski? Just a couple questions on your experience with them if you have:

1. Have you had any delaminating problems?

2. Have you had any issues with the sidewalls or edges?
3. Have you experienced any binding rip-outs??
Any and all feedback is appreciated as I have already had 3 SEPARATE pairs have the heelpieces rip out, blown out sidewalls, and with the heelpiece pulling out, the top sheets delaminated on over half of each ski.

Just had Rossi give me next years Super 7 to make up for it, but now I am questioning the durability of this ski.. Was last year's model a fluke on the three pairs that I have ridden? Does my ski shop somehow fuck up every mount?(Rossi said it was a defective ski each time) Am I just that badass of a rider that any ski I ride will fall apart at the seams?(sarcasm)

please post if you have any experiences or opinions on this ski.

I went through three pairs of the Super Sevens in one season. All had issues with cracking sidewalls. Another friend of mine has had the same problem with his. Even the bases rip easy on these things. I took my final warranty and sold them and bought some 192 Bent Chetlers- awesome ski and built wayyy better. The Super Seven is poorly built and has serious durability issues. Just my experience and .02. Did love the way it skied however....

I have a pair for powder days only. I absolutely love them and have had no problems like that at all.

What type of heelpiece was it? Height/weight? The delams seem definitely a manufacturing problem, but the pullouts might be from a narrow heelpattern...

They were mounted with the Rossi FKS180 2010-2011 model so I would have thought that it would have fewer integration problems with a Rossi ski...

It is definitely not a binding issue. Its a ski issue with the 195 model. I have seen many other (besides the three i've had probs with) delam/crack sidewalls. In fact, a friend of mine received a warranty from Rossi and the skis had burrs and dips in the actual sidewalls from the factory. I had many friends warn me about Rossi's quality issues but I didn't listen... Loving my Atomics now. If you do have Rossi SS7s and ski them hard, do your self a favor and have a quick look over your sidewalls. May just find your self a crack. This being said, I have only seen/heard of the issue with the model with extra metal in it. Haven't heard any probs with the smaller sizes. Not to totally bash Rossi as they were very quick and helpful in the warranty process.

yeah they were legit, i live in SLC and just had to drive to their warehouse in Ogden to get my replacements. Main problem though was when they replaced them, they did not have any NEW skis, they gave me a set of demos they had there and told me to bring them back at the end of the season for the new 2011-2012 model. I got hooked up when I went there yesterday and they gave me the new ones. Hopefully they are legit, they sure look a lot cooler and I just got em mounted up today, goin ridin at Snowbird on Sunday so I'll get to test em out.

I Fucking love this ski, the way it handles, how stable they are charging, and how stompable they are off of any drop, but the durability is killin me. If this set gets totalled by my awesomeness, Ill sell my warranty pair and get something like the Bentchetllers for sure

There have been a number of issues with the Super 7s, delaming is the most common. Primarily an issue on the early production models. Shitty that you had 3 have issues though. Everyone says the skis rock, too bad so many have to be warrantied.

do you have last years or this years s7s? last years s7s, s5, and s3s all had delam problems which were fixed for this season.

...191 ON3P Wrens.

I sold my Super 7's last April for some Wrens and they are seriously better than the Super 7's in every way. Yes, the Wrens have less tip rocker and the lack of a rockered tail, they also have a much larger sidecut radius...blah, blah, blah. The Wrens are much more stable, responsive, and agile than the Super 7's ever wished they could be. The Wren's bamboo core and lack of metal laminates allows them to be lighter as well.

I was fortunate enough not to have any issues with my 7's, but was quite aware of the fragile sidewalls and base imperfections from the factory.

Seriously, the Wrens will make your Super 7's feel like you were having a bad dream, and woke up where you should have been all along.

well technically I already had this years Super 7, but now I have next years Super 7, with the green and white topsheet. It's not the S7, it's the 195cm Super7

Hmm... Well have to see how this brand new set one works out, if I have any major issues then I will just sell the re-warrantied ski and buy something else for sure
I'll def try to demo the ON3P's if they have any where to do so here in Salt Lake...
