Rossignol s5

okay so im thinking about getting the s5. i ski the east coast so mostly park and a little bit of all mountain. i want a soft ski. the other ski i am thinking about is the anthem. everything ive heard/read about the s5 says its the "king of newschool skiing" and its "50% all mountain 50% jib" so that makes me think it is a pretty soft ski. i was just wondering who really knows how the s5 is compared to say the anthem in terms of softness and if anyone has actually skied it.

thanks for the help!

ridden both. S5 is easily the stiffer one. I'd call the anthem more of a wide park ski than all over ski. Then again its also pretty good in pow, but you're in the east so...

agreed. love them and all, but stiff.

think new blend for something stiffer but not quite s5 stiff, arv or anthem for softer stuff.

blends have a mid to soft flex. s5's have a mid to stiff flex. i demoed the s5 last year and it was a sick ski. i could butter them but i can also butter the stiffest ski because i learned how to on invaders, which makes it effortless to do on any ski. you wont be learning how to do butters on the s5 though. great ski, good for only one ski
