Rossignol s3 yes or no

i want to buy a pair of s3 for about 350. I am wondering is they are right for me. I ski on the east coast at Jay Peak. I ski mostly glades and natural terrain and encounter conditions from firm moguls, soft bumps, firm mogulswith icy backsides, powder and crud. I also ski groomers to acess the natural terrain and in early/late season condition. I dont ski super hard but ski bumps and trees at a good pace.I also like a playful ski that lets me jump around on the side of trails and off rocks and small east coast cliffs. is the s3 right for me?If so what length wouldyou suggest. I am 5 11 and weigh 150 lbs.If not which ski would you suggest.
 
no to the S3

do you ski park? if so a line chronic or blend would be a good fit. Or a pair of ON3P Jeronimo's

or an Armada ARV, or a K2 Shredditor 102
 
The S3's are a dope ski. Super durable and very versatile. 186 would be a good length for you to look into. From what you said, you ski pretty much everything aside from park. If that's the case, this would be a good ski for you, even if park was in the mix.
 
I learned on the S3. super playful and slices straight through the crud. for a while I had them with an AXL setup for BC and they handles powder really well. you will not be dissapointed whatsoever!
 
My current ski is the S3 for non park stuff. Its ok. I would want something wider. Super 7 is a sick ski. Line SFB maybe. Or a sick day? ON3P Jeffrey? I dunno S3 is fine but not the best
 
I skied the S3 last year as my park ski. Used it in everything from urban to deep powder. I was skiing a 186 center mount and it was the best ski I've ever been on. It does everything.
 
i just picked up a pair and they are perfect for everything. nothing id use in a comp or anything but a great ski to make some good memories on. dull it underfoot and you can toss it around on rails too. im 5'8 and 150 riding a 186, the rocker chops the length down alot
 
then you need to try the newer rossi Slat, blows the s3 out of the water (not that it was a bad ski by any means)
 
It is still a great all mountain ski. Floats better than any other ski in a similar width, pivots real easy due to the tip and tail rocker, carves like a dream (but does have a speed limit). I ski the 186 and have no problems in tight east coast trees.
 
I have 178 S3s. I am 5'9 150.

They are sick. I charge hard on these skis. Playful but will carve rails if you want them to. I ski them everywhere outside the park.

I would buy this ski again.
 
I rode S3's back when they had the all white/black pattern, I don't remember what year they were. Best skis I had ever ridden up to that point. I used them for everything. I washed out a lot on back seat landings because of the rocker, but they were actually pretty sick on rails, and obviously great for all mountain.

I would recommend them for sure, but there are a lot of other great skis out there in their class that you should look at
