Rossignol FKS140XXL

I've got the Pivot 14L (normal break width) on my Afterbangs this season, and they'll be put on my Jeronimos next season. They're so sick, I've never had a problem with pre-releaseing and they've saved my knees several time.

I'm getting some cash later this weekend, looking to pick a pair up while they're cheep.

Are they as strong as they look.
 
got them on my jj's but ive only skied them twice. regardless i thought they were one of the better bindings ive ridden, great ski control and real low stack height. ill probably pick up another pair for new sticks next year.
 
They're one of the strongest bindings I've ever ridden...the only thing better is the FKS155 which is all metal, but they're not as easy to find.
 
I've got some brand new 140XXLs, and they're honestly the best binding money can buy (save for the 155/180, those are all metal) No prerelease, even with my DIN set at 5 instead of my recommended 8, and they're indestructible. The heelpiece has a bit of adjustment (mainly in the forward pressure, is this a safe thing to do?) so you have to remount for basically any new boot, but that's not much of a deal, and it doesn't detract from how awesome they are. If you can, pick up a pair or 3.

There's a reason that this binding design hasn't changed in 40+ years.
 
Not a problem, your knees will thank you. I assume you're riding park with these? These are only slightly heavier than Jesters, and they're a much better binding.
 
yeah deffantly get them i have the look pivot 18 which which has a better toe peice which the only difference is that the binding is set at delta 0 which is really helpful for park and all mountain skiing. the yeah get them cause i havent had a problem with prerealse espacially since i like to tweek my grabs alot so iam litterly pulling as hard as i can on my skis and so far it hasnt popped out yet :)
 
I don't have the world's best knees. @ 17 i have arthritis in one, and have partially torn ligaments in the other. But released gave me a concussion this season @ Fernie alpine resort in British Colombia, Canada. Coming out of an icy chute, caught a gunky bump at the bottom, lost one ski, stayed on the other for a few seconds, then that one released on the toe. I ended up tumbling about 100 feet. Thanks helmet. Im not dead.
 
DON'T listen to anyone telling you to get the P18 (FKS 180). The lowest DIN on them is 8, which is probably too much if you're a smaller 17 year old with bad knees. The FKS 140 is still absolutely indestructible.
 
I never run anything over 10 as a din, i'm trying to find something nice in a 12- 14 er

I think i'm gonna order some of the FKS140L's closer to next season. But we'll see if i find anything else worth looking at in the time being.
 
Am I the only one that's broken FKS 155 repeatedly? 7 baseplates and 3 brakes which are pain in the ass to swap unlike other brands. Probably swapping to Tyrolia 15 next year and should be able sell the used FKS and end up with some extra cash thanks to all the internet hype you guys stir up. They're nice bindings but they do break.
 
I have broken TWO toe pieces and head office ignores/hang up on my calls even when I try and speak french and don't reply to e-mails. Great bindings regarding pre-releasing but the 140 have super cheap toe pieces. NOT HAPPY.
