Rossignol Blackops...

Pulled the trigger on a pair and got a good pow day in at Vail. Soft enough in the tips to butter and have plenty of float but stiff enough to charge through chop. Kinda heavy with FKS 18s but still pretty easy to get 3s and 5s around. Pretty comparable to Faction 4.0s, but much better at charging and with some camber underfoot.

Not plenty...most people at or above 6 foot who aren't a feather are gunna want longer than 186. I'm 5'10 and the smallest I will go is 186

i think it's more a matter of preference than anything. I'm 6' 165 lbs and been skiing on a 186 for a few years now just fine, but i definitely wouldn't go any shorter

The average male is what? Like 5'9"? So obviously a 186 is the size usable by the most folks. That's why. I'm just a little bitter because I'd love to try one in a size that fits me better haha. Sounds like it'd be fun.

I prefer the ON3P model of having a 181 and 191. I think that covers a much larger slice of the skier pie.

It doesn't sound like much, but any ski with reverse sidecut at the tip/tail needs to be of decent length or it will suffer from tip dive and wheeleying out from under me. That extra 5cm makes a very noticeable difference in that regard as well as it's stability at speed.

I'd love to get on a demo ski though- I love stiffer smeary skis.

They are making the black op in a 176 and I believe those ski both of you saw were a version of the black ops. Rumor has it they will offer it in multiple waist sizes, (98ish to replace the slatI think will be one of them.)

well Im very confident in my source so get your bank account ready. IMO would be smart of them to drop them now same with armada and some of their secret stuff for next year so people could make decisions with full knowledge of their options now and get there affairs in order, but that kind of gets rid of the whole "blackops" point.

People are going to be pre ordering here soon. So I definitely agree...i feel like they will miss out on a lot of people.

See I love these underground lines and stuff and its a great idea because I feel like I see a dozen kids with the same kit as me and we all look like the same person so the zero and blackops ideas are great, but to an extent if you dont make it a known option to kids, they won't buy or plan for it in time and you sell less product and your secret idea backfired.

jskis and other craft ski companies created this limited run model and its working. now all the big companies are starting to do the same. It allows them to set a higher price. i think its a good model for this industry. people like the exclusivity of the stuff they buy.

i know ill be ringing my rep about these.

Go look at chris logans insta, called it baby.

slats were dope, so curious to see how the 98 comes out. Also would be cool to see a full line, ie 98, 108, and a 118 or whatever this years was.

Also, @parker white, when do you announce the Thrash N Crash69 winners, because my homie Chip needs some new skis after he snapped his twigs on this one:
