Rossignol bindings

I´m going to buy Rossi/Look bindings and I´ve looked on Rossignol FKS 155 and 120 and Look pivot 12 racing.

From what I´ve read the fks 120 have a vertical release and the 155 don´t have it? Can someone explain to me what a vertical release is and if it´s better.

I have also looked at Look pivot 12 racing

Are they any good?

I ride 100% park and weigh 155. I ski quite well.

I hurt my knee this winter and want a safe binding so I don´t fuck up my knee again.

the fks 120 should be fine for you

often times when your riding park you land backseat, in which case vertical release is a good thing so you dont fuck yourself up.

Vertical release is just that it allows your boot to come out of the tow piece verticaly this is much more safe in terms of keeping your knees intackt, however it does have some disadvantages, including preerelease. I don't know about park skiers but most serius big mountain skiers hate it so go with a binding (like 155 or 185) that won't release verticaly I want to get some 155's for my skis next year because I am tiered of releasing when I land back seat off of a cliff. So when it comes down to it vertical release is more safe but at same time you see a reduction in performance if you constantly ski at a high level, where as bindings witha vertical lock out increase performance by not pre-realeasing but also drasticaly reduce safty.

would like a px12 or something be considered vertical release? im almost positive no, but ive never seen and dont quite understand how the vertical release happens

yea it is. and its when your boot can come straight up. fks 155 and 185 only have side to side, whereas the bindings below these have side to side and vert

^ that binding is the exact same thing as the rossi fks 120, just the lok version. if that answers your question.

Really? ok then it answers my question.

Just have to know the other thing i asked about then I´m done.

Is vertical release common on most bindings today?

As you see I don´t know a shit about bindings.

aka most bindings except for high end race stock (the fks 155, 185, look equivilants, i beleive salomon 916 doesnt have vert either but i might be wrong on that)
