Rossi vs atomic +karma

heres the deal tryin to pick skis this year. so its either between rossi s4's or atomic punx.

id like to kno

what one is softer and by how much?

how they compare to dumonts in stiffness/softness

which one holds up better for rails. i kno the atomic has that rail guard or something underneath? does that help prevent edge cracks.?

and the sizes are 174? i think for both? any help you can give me will be apprcieated. +karma for help
 
I think the edge thing is to help stop edge tear out.

cracks will happen, its not a big deal. Just dull your edges before you jib. That helps a lot.

the punx are a great ski, they come in 175 which will be good. def way softer. one of the softest park skis available.

about the durability strip: the red underfoot is ceramic which is a super durable material inserted into the ptex, so scratches that cause edge ripout are way less likely. also the extra edge that is inserted into the ceramic basically reduces wear on the outside edges by distributing it to 4 edges instead of 2.

it works awesome.

 
dang i forgot that im like 5 6 and 140 i rode dumonts 176 all last season and loved them but kinda want somehting a little softer. + karma to all
 
I can't speak at all to the atomics, but I have the Rossi FS WRS from two years ago (now the S4) and love them. It's a super light ski, with tons of pop. They are fairly stiff, but the hybrid core has great snow feel. It makes for a great all mountain ski as well, they turn over really easily carving, and at 84 underfoot, provide a solid base in the park.
 
i can almost guarantee you that the people in this thread that are all saying the punx is a better ski havent ridden the s4's/ghettos/scratch fs
 
i would say that both skis are in the same catagory. both great in the park, jumps, and pipe. probably around the same weight and similar width. not to mention, atomic and rossignol quality is legend. you can go wrong with either of those skis.
 
^ yeah i agree it seems like they went from being on top with the scratch FS to a rapid decent.. kinda stinks
