Rossi FKS and Look Pivot Compatibility

I've currently got an old set of Rossi FKS 155 Race bindings on my K2s.

I got given a set of Look Pivot 14s and was wondering if they are interchangable, i.e. am i able to just unscrew the FKS and screw in the Looks?

Cheers!

The heel piece definitely is, and I'm 95% sure the toe is the same too. Just make sure you take the 155's off slowly so you don't strip the holes.

The hole pattern is the same. That does not mean re-using those holes is a good idea.

Op this. If you are unsure I would take them into a good shop. I wish they would bring back the 155 toes.

The 155 toe is still produced. The PX15 race bindings all come with it. Theoretically if you wanted to you could find a pair somehwere and pair it with a 14 or 18 heel.

The screw pattern is the same, the real question is why would you want to down-grade from a metal one piece toe binding to a plastic toe-wing design, unless weight is a big concern?

If you are going that course and set on the same holes take it into a shop and ask them to help-coil it. might cost some $$ compared to regular mount but your screws will stay in.

Wat.

If the screw holes are still good, and the shop techs aren't monkeys, this would be 100% pointless.

Debatable. Coils are rarely a bad idea if integrity is a concern. Ive reused "good" holes and had to go back to get them helicoiled.

If the op skis hard or wants solid piece of mind, this should be a consideration

If this was the case, either binding screws would be larger or you would pre-helicoil before mounting a binding for the first time.

But we can conclude that since we don't, and pull-outs are uncommon, then a "good" screw thread is perfectly sufficient.

To be honest you're more likely to fuck the ski up drilling and installing 16 helicoils in a perfectly good ski, plus the tech is gonna look at you like you're retarded even for asking.

To answer your other question, you can do them at home without too much trouble if you have the right gear for it. Depends what kind of helicoils though.

Why do you want to do that? As stated before, it can be done. I've done it many times myself. You just have to be really careful when you do it.

But that brings me back to the question as to why you would want to go from an FKS 15 to a P14? If I skied FKS/Pivots(but I don't), I would covet the 15, and only use them. I think it was the best binding the LOOK/Rossignol ever made.

Unless there is something wrong with them or the DIN range is wrong for you, I say stick with the 15.
