Rossi Axial 110 Question

Hey, I've got a set of Rossi Axial 110 bindings that I bought second hand. I was wondering if anyone knows what the deal is with the swivel action of the heel part is. Does it do anything special any other binding doesn't do? Better ejection or what? Also, proper correction of my terminology would be appreciated. It also seems that after every day I go skiing the swivel becomes more loose. Is this an experimental binding from Rossignol, because I don't seem to see this feature on most other bindings.

they pivot so they release at all different angles. they are safer in most falls and they did discontinue them so they are worth some $$

i had those.   definitely not experimental, they're just a reg. pivot heel.   allows more horizontal heel travel and retension.    there's a thread about the pivot heel that you should search out.

they are a good binding. Pivot heel, good elastic travel, fairly light, multidirectional release in the toe

Yeah, they've been great bindings so far. I mean when I completely eat shit I hardly feel a thing! What makes them worth money after I've ridden them for a couple seasons? And why did they stop making them?

I'm guessing these questions will be answered in that thread you mentioned...

My rossi rep couldn't explain any decent reason why - except that the new Axial2/PX heel had much more elastic travel
