rondannee bindings

Anyone familiar with the Damien Fritchie Freeride binding. I'm hoping to pick up a set at the end of the season on sale. I'd like to pro form some seth viscious (sp?) to put them on.

What do you guys think (if you've used them)? Do they take a beating, work well, etc.

I had a set on my Seth Pistols last year. I pulled them off and put regular bindings on. For the small amount of out of bounds skiing I do, I would rather use Alpine Trekkers and good bindings. The extra weight is not worth it the 80% of the time I'm in bounds. Keep that in mind.

Cool...I was out with some friends for a few days this last week and two had the trekkers. They both ended up getting bad blisters from their boots using the trekkers. Not sure what I'm going to do but i'm hoping to get some karmas next year for my overall inbounds use. The seth's would be mainly for backcountry.

they are not meant for jibbing or park at all. they have too many breakable parts, go with the trekkers, as they are also cheaper

Pirate steeze, arrrr!

I have a pair of '05 naxos on 1080s- soon to be on arm-x bc's.

I take em in the park a decent amount and have not broken anything yet (knock on wood). They are probably a little less safe than a full alpine setup for big stuff.

If you are serious about touring there is no comparison to alpine trekkers. Weight is importaint!

I have heard a lot of conflicting things about durability. From what I gather, if you are heavier, AT bindings might not be such a good choice.

using a touring binding in the park will be stupid. it'll break so fast.

so, if you're setting up a backcountry setup for touring only, it's not a bad idea. get the tounring binding. although Naxo is new, they have a more burly screw pattern which equals more power to ski, less likely to pull it out of the ski, too.

if you ski mostly inbounds and you want to be able to take the set up backcountry, put an alpine binding on it and get alpine trekkers. your friends got blisters with their 'trekkers cause their boots don't fit right.
