Ron Paul is a whack job

I'm not positive, but I think Ron Paul has said a few times that he does have some Libertarian view points, so I don't agree that he is "ashamed" of those viewpoints. I think you might be exaggerating the jump he has made to go with the Republican party. He does hold many of their ideals, and it makes huge political sense for him to go a little bit against his "true colors" in order to get elected. There is not a single politician who completely sticks to their ideals 100% of the time, but I think if you're looking for someone who holds to their ideals than Paul is your best bet. He does a good job of balancing a pragmatic campaign strategy and holding to his beliefs.

Although Eleven and conceptkid are being such fucking asshole to everyone that it's really giving me a negative association with Paul...

Ok, I don't care about the stupid ass terror alert. It is useless, and in will no way help us do anything. The fact of the matter is, Al Qaeda is out to get us, they bit us once, and they will keep trying to. I'm not saying I agree'd with the Patriot Act, I don't like the idea that some government official could be on the phone will I talk to my grandma. Believe it or not, that's not all we do to protect ourselves from another attack, thats where agencys like the CIA, Dept. of Homeland security, etc. come in. If Ron Paul believes we can defend ourselves effectively without these agencys, I'd like to know he intends to do it.

he doesn't, that's just the thing. From everything I've heard come out of his mouth, the problem will go away if we just take all of our influence out of the middle east. Because that is THE reason why 9/11 happened - it was because we've been over there, bombing baghdad for 10 years. That's the only reason.

you apparently don't know how terrorism works. so long as our government is keeping americans shaking in their boots they aren't going to do shit, they're gunna sit back and watch the US devour itself and then laugh about it, Bush played right into their hands. and all the shit they do right now only fuels the fire, Iraq wasn't necessary. just fueled the fire, the point of 911 was to drag the u.s. into a war in the middle east, which in bin laden's mind would unite all of the arab nations against western civilization. So ALL of the actions in the middle east taken by u.s. organizations fuels the fire making shit worse everyday, that's how the fuck we can reform those agencies

Wait, so are they just sitting back to laugh at us, or are we fueling their fire?

Im sorry, but they still want to kick our ass, no matter what we do or don't do to ourselves. They don't care about attacking our "liberties and freedoms", it was never about that, they, in terms of Bin Laden, want us to get out of the Middle East and burn to the ground.

Thinking that because we're shooting ourselves in the foot somehow makes them want to attack us less is simply retarded.

actually if he prefers waffle house that is acceptable but if he doesnt like syrup and american crepes hes definitley gonnna have a terror cell in the white house

how? they save resources, lives and most importantly cash money.

Bin Laden is no idiot, he knows at some point the u.s. is going to self destruct, and he has aided in it, he wants 2 things, the U.S. our of the middle east, and the fall of western civilization, i assume he'd settle with the first though. Seriously though, think things through, Al Qaeda does not have the ability to fund attacks all of the time.

Nooooooo, but they have the funds to do something, oh, i dunno, ever 8 years? I mean, we had something sweet in 1993, then something GREAT in 2001 and in the years leading up...

Can i remind you that Saudi Arabia helps out our dear terrorist friends? they have the money, and the time.

You seem to think that these guys think the same way as us, that they'd settle with one or the other... He wants the USA gone, period. They flip a bitch when someone draws Mohammed; taking a joke or letting something slide doesn't seem like a trait the muslim extremist world has.

alright i hope all you people know that bin laden and his family has ties with the bush family and he also worked for the CIA in the 1980's. Wierd eh? maybe he's a scapegoat so they can keep their war on terror policies going.

No they don't, christ they're burning their own fucking oil fields. They lose lives every day in Iraq, and I think sending 5 people into a jumbo jet causes a hell of alot more damage both physically and mentally then having 5 people run into a street to blow up a couple soldiers.

i war referring to al qaeda, not fucking iraq you fucking moron, the fuck do oil fields have to do with al qaeda? the fuck does iraq have to do with al qaeda? absolutely NOTHING, in fact your response makes NO fucking sense at all

There are people in Al Qaeda inside Iraq you dumb fuck. And you don't think Al Qaeda doesnt get money from the oil?

haha possibly but i'm sure theres a better chance someone in our govt is getting money from the oil. and theres also a good chance the iraqi people are getting screwed on the whole deal. theres also a large chance that you are an ignorant dumbass who doesnt give up

barely enough to consider them a threat, they're not the one's blowing IED's on the streets of iraq, and yeah they get money from the oil, but the insurgents are the one's lighting that shit up, not al qaeda, aren't you aware that the insurgets and the main body of al qaeda are two different sect of islamic culture that fight between each other? yes they have the same main goal, but for seperate reasons. The insurgents were the same religion as saddam hussein and under saddam they were protected and their businesses blossomed, now that saddam has been over thrown they lose business and money, al qaeda just wants the u.s. out of the middle east, they don't give a fuck about the meaning behind the insurgent's attacks

please just shut the fuck up seriously, you're wrong there is no connection between al qaeda and the iraqi insurgents. There is pleanty of room for reform amongst the U.S. organizations like the FBI and Department of Homeland Security, yeah they might blow up another building, maybe the government should get a clue and get out of countries that don't want our help. There is a reason why the majority of countries in the middle east are under dictatorships, simply because in those countries, democracy doesn't work, the u.s. should stop imposing it's beliefs on everyone there isn't a fucking point to it it's not going to work ad to be completely honest there isn't a checks and balances system anymore, which is part of what this country was based on. so i say reform them i'm not really all that worried about getting blown the fuck up by some camel jockey half way across the globe.

We were chatting about how this country is going to eat major shit. Granted we were drinking and one of them was on acid, but it was fun.

people are saying ron paul wont be able to defend america... are you serious do u know how much the so called "war on terror" has cost, almost half a trillion dollars that is 500,000,000,000. If you took that money and invested it into America and used it to protect our own boarders and not on policing the world HOW WOULD THAT NOT BE HELPING AMERICA i cant fucking stand people...guys turn off ur fox news for 10 minuts and open your minds you might learn something

i'm so sick of hearing about this movie.

ron paul has some good points that i do agree with, but there are simply too many radical ideas he supports. and it's not that radicalism is always bad, it's just that i think getting rid of so many government agencies like that is just pure dumb. no one wants a massive government, but no one wants no government either.

Wow I don't understand this guy at all. I watched him in a debate a few months back and thought he had really good ideas. But now, I just googled "ron paul united nations" and realized this guy is completely insane. His own ideas contradict each other.

I'm standing with ajay on this one, the insurgents we're fighting in Iraq are not Al-Qaeda. There never was, and never will be, a link between Saddam and Osama, no matter how hard our current administration wishes there was one. We went into Iraq for the wrong reasons, and while we did depose a cruel dictator, we created a shitstorm for our country, which I doubt will die down by the time our sons and daughters reach draft age.
