Ron Paul finally got my attention

Not that my attention counts for much. I'm Canadian, I loosely follow the presidential race, and though I am well aware of Ron Paul's popularity I have never taken the time to deeply research his policies I had simply pegged him for a popular candidate but a lost cause.

This video however changed all that. I disagree wholeheartedly with the War in Iraq for several reasons I wont bother getting into now but I think his input in this debate clip with Guiliani says it all. When dealing with foreign policy, America could stand to gain by taking a step back and reassesing itself.

Good on you Mr. Paul.

word to that. im also canadian and i believe that a friendly foreign policy is essential in a government.

Rudy needs to shut the hell up about 9/11. Thats honestly the only thing he talks about. Its his answer for everything.

ron paul is the shit. a bit of an alarmist, and he has no chance whatsoever of actually winning, but i like some of his ideas. he tells shit like it really is, which is quite refreshing.

Yep, he is the shit, straight up. I have learned alot by following his campaign and helping support it in my area. He can teach you alot of things if you are willing to listen or watch. Even if he doesnt win, every person needs to hear him speak, read his work and consume all you can while he is still alive. He knows alot about money, foriegn policy etc. He is seriously a big time person of this era, one of those people who will go down in history like Martin Luther King because of their intelligence and ways they got people fired up.

ron paul is actually a liberatian and belives in the least amount of goverment possible. he thinks that the corporate world would take better care of the people than the goverment. and i dont agree

Ron Paul actually DOES have a chance and some of his ideas are real legit. He got alot of votes already and he stands for alot of good things, but he does say some waky stuff. I'm thinkin of voted for him or obomma if thats how you spell it

thank you, i'm well aware of that. not all libertarians are exactly the same though. that's like saying all republicans are Christian (or something along those lines since i'm tired and can't think of a proper analogy at the moment). however, if you find information to support your claim about him (not just libertarians in general) i will admit my mistake.

american people need to listen to what is being said. guliani is a fucking moron. and when he broke into ron pauls time everyone cheered. does nobody remember that before 9/11 he was a shitty mayor and would make a horrible president. i would punch him in the face if i got the chance. his lisp just fucking kills me.

That is insane. Its insane to me that we live in a nation that sees itself so infallible, so righteous that the simple suggestion that we might have provoked 9-11 angers politicians and incites moronic cheering when challenged.

Ron Paul said it like it is and in a shallow back stabbing attempt to gain public sway Rudi opened his slanderous foolish mouth. Shame on him.

God have mercy on our country and the idiots that inhabit it.

Word. Rudy is such a fucking moron. And people who cheer when he says the words "9/11" scare me. How brainless can you be? Its all the man ever talks about. Its the only reason anyone outside of New York knows his name. Its his answer to every question he's asked. And its fucking pitiful that he uses it to gain support.

people like you are the reason i hate political partys. too many people belive that everyone that belong to a certain party all belive the same things. Its fucking retarded. around 40% of the population dosn't even listen to what the polotitions have to say. They just vote based on what party the canidate belongs to. Ron Paul dosn't think that corporations need more controll over us, he belives that we should be in charge of ourselfs. the goverment should only be their to keep our society stable, not restricting our rights.

poor libertarians, i feel bad for all small parties that get absorbed by the democrats or republicans, they really don't stand a chance on their own though...we really should convert to a populist voting system

Small correction: Republicans started the war in Vietnam, Korea, Gulf war and Iraq war

But Ron Paul is completely obsessed about foreign policy, but seems to completely forget about internal affairs: poverty, crime and economy. Obama has my approval, even if im not American

Ron Paul is a hypocrite. He is a libertarian, yet is against abortion. Call me crazy, but I thought libertarianism was all about not telling other people what to do, as long as it doesn't affect anyone else. That only affects someone else if you're one of the right wing nutjobs who claim "life begins at conception", and that an embryo has rights.

He's for states rights on the issue, not a federal ban on abortion. Overturning Roe v. Wade would give the states a right to decide on their own, as it should be. Seven states have trigger-laws in place, though, meaning that they already passed legislation to make illegal any type of abortion as soon as Roe v. Wade is overturned.

Most of his speeches have to do with our failing economy. that's why he wants to abolish the IRS and put the federal reserve back in the hands of the public. the federal tax is unconstitutional and ineffective to begin with. he is also in favor of legalizing marijuana which would relieve a huge economic burden on the overpopulated and overburdened penitentiary system. He is also against the war which, according to http://www.nationalpriorities.org/costofwar_home is currently costing us upwards of $488,000,000,000. I don't see what you're saying about him being obsessed with foreign policy other than the war in iraq. Most people see Paul as an Isolationist, not a globalist. Plus, we're living in an increasingly globalized world. Is there something wrong with being concerned with what's happening outside your safe, happy little box called the "United" States of America or for the love of god, Canada?

...just about to say that. That was Lyndon B. Johnson, and partially JFK for the Democrats.

But yeah, about this election, Ron Paul doesn't really have a chance at all. I don't think any of the Republican Candidates will do a good job besides Paul, Paul would have been my third choice, behind Obama and Edwards. Even though Paul is completely different than Obama and Edwards, I think that if Paul's policies could have been good for our country as well. And he is just a badass.

And I also think Obama (my first choice) won't win either, so I may go with Edwards now, because of the Southern vote. The southerners (besides blacks) will not vote for a black man, but they will vote for Edwards, a southerner himself. Edwards brought up this point last night in a debate, and I completely agree. Edwards can beat guys like McCain in the South, the democrats already have the east and the west, and a few northern states.

and this kind of response is why i dont enjoy talking about politics. such a blunt statement is so annoying. noone can take it seriously unless you back it up with actual reasons. or else you just sound kind of annoying.

and someone will think this post is annoying. just because i will not share my political views right now. cuz its time for class and i am procrastinating. k bye

Ah, the old "I don't like what you're saying, but I don't feel like actually refuting it. Instead, I will point out that you mistyped some words."

A great contribution to the disscusion.

Oh fuck, I mispelled discussion.

Ah, the old "I don't like you, but I agree with what you're saying. So, I will point out that you mistyped some words and move on."

He might be a bit of a crazy old man... but he's completely right about 9/11. you don't see any nuetral countries being attacked by terrorists.

I find it hard to take somebody seriously when they misspell such words as legitimate and intelligent and in such a case as here, where you're trying to get people to sway their opinions in way of a candidate, or at least give a reason for disliking a candidate. I meant no offense, but when you're debating a politician or trying to convince somebody of something, it would help your case tremendously if you just took a second to make it look professional.

so you propose that we just let these corrupt and immoral power just be and not at least attempt to try to rectify what we've done to these third world countries or am I missing something here?

Yes, because the opposing leader makes it alot more difficult for them to do so. Remember that the establishment is not only stealing from 3rd world nations, but from middle class America as well.

how do you know he was a shitty mayor? heard stuff? your from the rocky mountains? you have no idea what the fuck your talking about. rudy actually cleaned up nyc a lot. there is hardly anymore bums and he took a lot of criminals off the street making it so much safer and cleaner. you really are an ignorant fuck whoever you are. piece of shit

If you understood what the Federal Reserve does, and also knew that Ron Paul wants to abolish it, you might understand.

my prediction:

we will never stop going to war because it's our countries biggest hobby.

Russia/China and other big powerhouses will take us over.

because US = A HOEL

Rudy actually fired the super cop resposible for cleaning up New York. You ignorant fuck haha. Read all about it in this months play boy. Fag.
