Ron Paul 2012

I don't think people should have to move out of their homes because of an oppressive government. I am not supporting the idea that the federal government should be able to be oppressive either, I think neither should. Ron Paul seems to mostly only care about keeping the federal government out of your life, which in certain cases, leads to the state government actually being able to be more powerful in your life.

He doesn't say that he would pass the we the people act unilaterally either, but why do you think that that would be impossible for him to pass, even though he says he would fight for it, but other things that he also would fight for are relevant because he could get them passed. It's an unjustified double standard. You're writing off things he wants to do that you don't agree with because he wouldn't be able to get them passed, but the things you do agree with he can apparently.

Cognitive dissonance......

I am simply saying that you have an option. With an oppressive (where we are headed. Patriot act SOPA NDAA) government, you do not have that luxury.

you have a very pessimistic and unrealistic view of the states if you really think Texas would ban atheists from holding office rather than devise their own legislation to protect peoples rights as suited to that individual states need- as it is the states responsibility not the federal governments.

Seriously what the fuck are you talking about banning Atheists from holding office that's fear mongering.

So if you don't believe that he could even do the things that you support him for, what's the point of supporting him? You might as well not vote.

There are quite a few ludacris laws on the books, in NY "Citizens may not greet each other by 'putting one’s thumb to the nose and wiggling the fingers,'" that doesn't mean given the opportunity they would be enforced.

If they did enforce it, wouldn't you like the ability to challenge it in the highest court in the land? That's an important check on power that the "we the people" act would get rid of.

please keep posting

No, I quit. I think I've made a pretty extensive case for some of the reasons I don't support him. There comes a time to just step back.

You don't like him because you believe with his election all of a sudden states will be able to say ban homosexuality because the same basis for which they are protected on the federal level for some reason would not apply.
