Rokinon 35mm on Glidecam? +k

Hey guys, I'm kinda under the gun time-wise because I found a Rokinon 35mm and need to get back to the guy by tomorrow night but I'm wondering if anyone here has used the Rokinon 35mm 1.4 on a glidecam? How is the infinity focus on it? Is it doable like the tokina 11-16?

My 50mm is basically useless because there is such a small plane where the subject is actually in focus. I'm not really looking at using this lens for skiing but primarily for other work. Please let me know if anyone else has used it on a glidecam or what you thought of the lens. I know people were super crazy for it towards the beginning of the summer.

And/or has anybody used the 24-105l on it? I'd really like this lens (or 24-70l if it wasn't so expensive) to have for photos as well since it does have AF. Would it be better to save my money and get the 24-105 even though it has an fstop of 4? I do do quite a bit of shooting in low and inadequate lighting.

One last thing. I currently have a tokina 11-16, 50mm, 70-200L, 55-250 and 18-55 that are on ebay right now, and my buddy has a 40mm 2.8 I borrow sometimes...if that helps my situation
 
Kinda skimmed the thread but;

I know dtf has used a 70-200 on a glidecam, I have a feeling somone said it was at 200, although that might not be on a crop camera.

Either way you'd manage 35mm, assuming you can stop down.
 
I know eheath has been using some longer lenses on his glidecam also, I want to say 50mm, but I my be wrong. I thought it was with a 17-50 all the way in tho
 
I use my 35(70 on my crop) and i have no problems with focus. If you aren't shooting wide open then you shouldn't be having focus issues with your 50 either. What aperture are you shooting at?
 
This might be it then. Whenever I've tried it's pretty dark out so I have the aperture open pretty far. I'll try with my 50 today and see if tighter aperature will help. Thanks!

Also, Anyone have any insight on getting the Rokinon now or waiting until I get paid and get the 24-105?
 
I've use my 17-50 at multiple focal lengths, mostly 24 and 35 and ive use my 18-200 at about 70-80 thats the most ive done.
 
I've used my 35 1.4 on a glidecam on my gh2 (2x crop) and gotten some pretty good shots. Not sure what you're planning on using it for, but what I've done in the past is tie a rope b/w myself and the subject to be able to maintain focus without stopping way down.
 
thats a pretty neat trick, probably handy for medium close work, but not exactly ideal if op wants to film skiing
 
definitely doable. i've shot all the way up to 115mm on my glidecam and still had shots i was really stoked on.
 
Ive used my Sigma 30mm on the glidecam and its so much fun, Ill be trying out 70-200 on in this upcoming weekend, going to be even more fun
