so i was asking if revy would be worth the drive up from rossland for opening weekend but i think i may pass on that. don't really feel like paying $70 to wait in opening weekend lineups and skiing mediocre week old pow... that being said: has anyone been up at the pass in the past day or two? I checked the webcam and there seams to be a bit of a snowbank - is the snow good or has it been too warm and getting crusty?
the weather forecast for the south kootz looks like shit. Red's never gonna fucking open.
 
I heard that a couple of weeks ago there was an inversion at the pass and it kinda screwed up the snow. Not too sure though.

But holy shit did Revelstoke ever raise their prices. Thank God I've got my student card.
 
Is that really what they are charging for a lift ticket? or did you just make that number up?

as for the snow pack in the pass, it seems to have stabilized in many areas despite early concerns over the inversion several weeks ago, and a layer of buried hoar that developed shortly after.

Check out the Teton forums, some one with far more BC experience than I has been posting regularly on the pass.

i got that price from their website. I don't just make up prices for tickets. that doesn't make sense.

 
I know it doesn't make sense, that's why I was asking ... I paid around 54 bucks after taxes, no "other seasons pass" discount .. just what they are charging for early season.

the snow was dope ... best thing going.
 
well shit, their website was straight up lying to me than. oh well. was it busy or managable?
 
it was manageable ... most people burned out after a few laps. by 1100 there was no waiting in the lift line, and at 230 I thought we may be the only people in south bowl. The snow got tracked out by noon, but as per .. if you know where to look you will find pow. the thin cover and gnar base of stumps and sticks made you hold back at times ... but once you got comfortable bashin a few stumps it was all good. I would wait until a major dump ... a good base has been packed out.

I want to be there for the opening of the ripper. that day should be mega fresh.

 
the pass is pretty good right now. buddy just skied there on thursday a foot of fresh. you have to tour about 3 hours to get fresh. pretty stable. was going to go tomorrow but heading to revy instead.
