mullen all the way. he's got almost 10 years on koston and is still kickin it the same. his style is sick and unmatchable. thrasher may have named koston skater of the year or whatever in the 90s...but mullen is god.
 
yeah i know, he's the only guy in the game that could actually get a really high score in real life by following the tony hawk point system
 
well it depends what kind of skating your looking at, cuz lots of skaters could destroy him on handrails and gaps.
 
very wrong. rodney grew up in a country-like town where skateboarding was very mellow and htere was nothing to skate, so naturally he began skating flatland. this isnt a rumor and is true. he is the firs tperson to invent almost all the basic flip tricks. however, he did not invent the ollie as many think. the ollie was invented by alan gelfand in 1978 and the first person to take an ollie down stairs and up curbs was mark gonzales.

back on topic, yes rodney mullen is sick, but hes the model posers (as much as id hate to use the word) warship. but you really cannot compare him to other skateboarders. he has his own style of skateboarding and very few can get as tech as him. daewon song is very close though, although not as tech, he goes far bigger. rodney mullen never was much into stairs and huge handrails he keeps it mellow. i have never seen a video of him doing huge gaps or whatever (and ive seen ALOT of skateboard videos. anyways thats my views.
 
Rodney's been around since the original Bones Bergade and invented so many tricks it's rediculous. He is the tech master

all that really takes is alotta good coordination and consistancy/skills at flat and alot of time to land the trick....

yes he's good

but their are soooooo many pros out there doing stuff that takes balls and a great deal of skills too.

skateboardings like half mental and half skill....

and the last thing, why the fuck would you compare eric koston to rodeny mullen?

good? he's way better than good. there's sooo much stuff he's done that i havn't seen anyone else come close to pulling off

noone wants to see some 40 year old do a boneless on flatground.
 
yes i downloaded that video in 2001 lost it and jjust downloaded it recently. It is my favorite video ever. Mullen is amazing in that video. His segment is phenominal. Watch it so much

daewon comes pretty damn close. but yeah, rodney muullin is the most inhuman skateboarder by far. apparantly he is super shy and really really rich due to a large inherantance or something.
 
Rodney = the sex. I dont find Eric Koston to be all that good at all, I dont think he stands out that much in Yeah Right... Paul Rodriguez is sick. Chris Haslam from Almost Round 3 = major boner.
 
rodney mullen is a hell of alot of fun to watch. he's the personified definition of a technical trick wizard.

i'm just saying hes been doing stuff ahead of everyone else, and he still can do shit that no one else can. Yes, there are other skaters who do stuff he can't, but he has been at it for awhile ya?
 
no no no, mullen has the best FLATGROUND skills, he doesnt have the best street skills, street includes, stairs, ledges etc. not just flatground.
 
of course it is......rodney mullen is the best flatland skater of all time, some of his segments ive seen r amazing....i cant tell u how many times ive seen him do handstand nosemanuals
 
They skate different sylies, compare his to Song if you are going to do it to anyone, and tre to nose blunt anyone?
 
yea and how many people have you seen do a kickflip back tail, bigpsin out on a handrail??? if you know skating, you know what who and what im talking about.....

but he doesnt use it for a part.

agreed...see rodney has a totaly differnt style then any other skaters, therefore i like him...but ill say that hes sorta outdated but as long as he is still in skate vids ill buy em
 
alan "ollie" gefland was the first to air out of a pool, no grab. he called it the ollie.

RODNEY was the first person to take the ollie to flat ground in his routine at a skate comp.

mark gonzales took it to stairs first.

rodeney invented the motion of the ollie on flatground as you and i know it. sorry kyle.
 
rodney mullen has more skill then anyone

if he wanted to do big rails like koston he would take a few months to practice nad throw the same tricks

koston would die to throw down tech stuff like rodney mullen
 
^^ well that clears it up. Rodney Mullen can practice anything for a few months and do it. Whilst other riders spend their whole careers defining their style and tricks.
