alright so i tried some rodeos today and didnt land any hahah. i would make a thread in the trick tip cult but i never get any quick responses in there and i wanted to see if i could get some help before thursday. i am 6'4" so if i look really awkward that could be why hahaha. do i need to throw my right arm down/in front more? i appreciate any help and +karma to any helpful answers. here is a video of three attempts. the first i dont think i went big enough, but by the end i was going way bigger than i needed to be.Courtesy of Newschoolers.com/static/images/flash_video_placeholder.png

I spin the opposite way so it might just look weird to me but flip more off the bat rather then spinning and just have the 180 come through starting right when you are upside down till the very end. If that makes sense.

Your throwing it way too far back. Id suggest trying flat 3s first and then transforming that into a rodeo by looking over your shoulder right from the start and spot your landing

the way i do it is looking to the right (i spin right) and bringing my feet up to my head level. you want to try to spin with your feet and head on the same plane. I always try to invision myself as like a pancake or a frisbee spinning in the air

I'm sorry but that is just awful advice.
You need to learn this on a tramp or something if you can, because you don't really seem to understand the trick. You want to pop, lean back on the couch (in whatever direction you spin), bring up your legs, and look at your feet. You'll see the landing come around before you know it. It's a really easy trick once you get it, I wish I had a video of one of mine on here to show you.

Actually after watching a few more times I realized you aren't that far off. Don't throw your head back, it's not a backflip. That will help a lot I think.

...which is what I said... bottom line reading about it online is not that much help. Watch videos, and try to bring it to a tramp first. Youll have it in no time

For me, I started out learning flat 3's, then just threw them a little harder and would usually come to about 450 then whip the last 90 around. I did this for a little while then tried one with a safety, and found if I reached for a safety it would spin me more while I flipped, and when I grabbed japan it would keep me at flat 3. Just experiment with different motions and grabs, it looked like you were actually really close on the last one, but if I'd have to suggest something it would be to almost jump forward when you take off, it makes the rotation a little bit closer to a flatspin, and it makes it easier to distinguish a rodeo from an underflip. But like I said, just experiment with different things, you've got a perfect spot to try them so go for it!

Those undeflips are coming around nicely you just need some more air. For rodeo that left hand needs to be more pointed behind you and to the sky, and your right shoulder should go forward, like a toned down misty, not up like a backflip
