Rodeo 9 tips

how to you do rotate so much on the spinning axis without flipping too much. I have pretty flippy rodeo 7s even when I try to push my should forwards toward jump the jump. how you do it?

I attached one of my rodeo 7s, but knowing ns it probably won't work

That's a nice rodeo 7. I think most nsers myself included cannot rodeo at all so that's why you haven't gotten many responses yet

What has happened to this place people used to love talking about how to do tricks

Either set harder and a little faster or do what you did in the clip and just 180 after, my rod 9s arent to flippy when I grab well but otherwise I've hocked flippy 9s by setting and throwing my shoulder harder. Look good though.

I started skiing seriously at 19, and I literally can't afford to get injured. Hence why I mainly straight air and go fast

Try and spot your landing sooner, it'll help you tuck and counter rotate for that last 180. But yeah, thats a dank 7.

Put me in the 'def can't do that shit' crowd but just stoppin by to say that was rad as fuck

I've done rodeo 9 on a tramp a handful of times. It definitely helps to set it more spinny than flippy right off the bat. When you're setting it, just look uphill instead of up. I've only done a rodeo 5 on skis, tried rodeo 7s with little success. But I might go for a rode 7/9 tomorrow, I'll report on the results.

Bro just pop a lil more and hold the grab longer the rotation will naturally come around. I've never done a rodeo 9 but I've done a dub 9 on tramp and it might be easier for you too if you just commit

i thought that was really good. you have to spin a little harder on your horizontal axis to get the next 180.

dub rodeos are easier imo, cause the axis doesn't change, ive done em on skis but never rod 9 because ive never felt super good with rodeo 7.

Dude as someone who wants to be able to rodeo 5 this season, an can only on the tramp. your sevens look perfect. I guess I don't understand what you mean by flippy?

Also as a question to this audience and thread, when you rodeo 9, a lot of times the last few spins are pretty parallel to the ground. So to make it a true dub rodeo both spins have to be off axis right?

Try and wrap once you pull out of the flip to speed up your rotation. Once you get comfortable with the feeling steeze it out.

Tried rodeo 7 and just ate shit all 4 times i tried it. It's not meant for me. Had the axis down on two of them but overshot the jump on one, and the other I came up short on the rotation.

A dub rodeo has 2 separate off axis rodeos, normally a rodeo (flatspin) 3 to 3 or 3 to 5 - here's a dub rodeo (flatspin) 7 from like a month ago. (excuse the shuffle)

God the more and more I learn the less and less I feel I know about different rotations.

Okay given this how can people do a dub cork 7? like a dub just insinuates that its double the axis? so its a double off-axis rotation of a 3? how come when pros throw like dub 12's it's not a triple 12?

ok so first question -

dub cork 7 - its 2 cork 3s. you do a cork 3 and come back to "neutral" position, and then dip into another cork 3. cork 3 +cork 3 equals 2 corks, and a full 720 - hence a double cork 7.

second statement -

yes, dub means you are doing that axis twice, meaning, you go into that axis, for example a rodeo, return to neutral, and then do it again - like in the clip I just posted. I do a rodeo 360, come back to neutral position in the air, and then do another rodeo 360 - dub rodeo 7.

as for the last 2 questions - dont know what you mean by "3" - the different between a dub 12 and a trip 12 is pretty easy to spot. Often a double cork 1260 takes the for of a cork 7 - to cork 5 although in some cases it might be a cork 3 to cork 9 or something. a trip 12 is most likely going to be a cork 3 to cork 3 to cork 5. between each cork, the rider returns to neutral mid air.

feel free to have me clarify if this did not make sense.

Understand the first and the second. Props on the dub rodeo btw that was super sick.

The third im still a little confused but i think maybe as i get closer to being able to throw dubs it might make more sense. either way i understand now a bit better when tom walnuts says someone is throwing double or triple what it means.

hmmm my advice would be to watch this one repeatedly and then do it exactly like he does

hope this helps :)

Grab mute tweak it out a little once you get to 90 degrees and then keep holding the grab until you feel the spin unfolding. Set the first 90 degrees like a normal (not floppy) rod 5. I think tweaking mute helps to initiate the spin.

Ive only done a handful of rodeo 9s but from what ive been told learning them make your set a little more spinny and a little less flippy. and keep those hips, shoulders and eyes/head in that spinning direction (essentially keep locked in that position to keep the spin momentum going). I really like those comments of spoting landing early though

I really want and need to start doing more of these. kinda just didnt feel like going past rodeo 5 over the last 2 seasons. really want to do em again next season
