i know this is retarded but im curious to know how you guys throw your rodeo 5s.

do you guys do the back flip thing or throwing lead shoulder in front like a football tackle?

i do the shoulder throwing

did u even read my question?

im not asking for advice and theres not a thread like this in the forum search.

a rodeo is a rodeo, not a lincoln 1.
a rodeo is thrown backwards and to the side. if you spin left, throw your feet to the left side of your body around shoulder height while throwing your left shoulder around the backside of your body to your right foot.

If you are "throwing" your rodeos, they probably look lime crap. It's a very chill and simple rotation, and the bigger the jump the better. Just lean back like a champ, grab like you mean it, and smile for the camera.

Also, this thread has been made a few hundred times and the are tons of awesome responses out there. Search and I bet you can find some good tips.

i kinda throw sideways (lincoln-ish) then open my shoulders the direction im spinning. I got some vids yesterday, so hopefully i can figure out if its actually rodeo or not.

a rodeo is a rodeo, not a flatspin

a rodeo is not thrown back, a rodeo is more or less a lincoln 1 but just a little more fluent and not as exaggerated. but this is going to go no where, everyone will have different perceptions of tricks

You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. I described how to throw a rodeo 5.... a rodeo is thrown backwards and to the side.

That actually kind of makes since. I always feel my rodeo rotation comes best from my hips though. I pop, spot out, and kind of awkwardly hump the air at an angle and then immediately bring my feet up at the same time.
Rodeo is actually such a nice trick once you get the set. It's probably the most visible/ least disorienting trick especially when you are doing bigger spins, because once you come around at 360 you can spot your landing for like the rest of the trick. The downside to it I find are some grabs really feel weird in it where as like a cork feels about the same no matter what grab.

A lincoln with a spin is going to be an underflip. TJs video is for sure a flat 5 but a lot of people use flat and rodeo interchangeably.

yeah I would call that a flat 5 if I saw it as well, but they are essentially the same trick. I mean it's like cork/d-spin. No one says d-spin anymore outside of moguls even though lots of people go inverted on their corks.
A rodeo is just a flatspin where your hips go above your head, you basically do them the exact same way.

i always thought rodeos were always thrown backwards, but there are honestly so many filppy-dippy-do-hickeys that I only care about how they look

I throw mine exactly like TJ does.

But then again I just learned them this weekend and only landed a handful of them.

The rest were REALLY flat 3s and i have no idea why :(

if you spin left. get a solid pop and try and kick your left shoulder with ur right foot open the left shoulder slightly and with ur right hand try and punch behind u into the back of ur left leg. almost like you are going to roll over a table sideways just get ur back flat and grab japan

i always thought a rodeo was a full backwards inversion (backflip?) with spin, and a misty was a full front inversion (frontflip?) with spin..
