Rodeo 3/sw rodeo 3

By definition, rodeo 3s don't exist. A rodeo is a flip with a spin, and since a full flip is 360 degrees, the minimum amount of spinning in a rodeo is 540 degrees. Most flat 3s aren't actually flatspins, but since they're not rodeos they're just shoved under that category. I call flat 3s wackflips, cause they're just slightly off axis, and most of the time with a japan or safety grab.
 
flat 3.. rodeo 3.. i'd consider them to be the same thing. after all, a flatspin is technically just a less inverted rodeo
 
No, You are wrong. A flat spin is a flat spin and a rodeo is a rodeo. There is no such thing as rodeo 3 and there never will be.
 
here's another similar question i've always thought about: if the opposite of ro 5 is misty 5, then what is the opposite of a flat 3 called? i assume itd be a frontflippy type thing, like a misty but without landing switch. if anyone has vids of anyone doing this trick thatd be cool
 
well obviously nobody calls it a rodeo 3. but please explain to me the difference between a flatspin and a rodeo? and don't say "flatspins are less inverted" because from what i've seen/experienced, "flatspin" and "rodeo" are completely interchangeable depending on preference. unless in the pipe, i consider rodeos in the pipe to be "flatspins"
 
that is implying that a backflip-180 is a rodeo. however i'm pretty sure that its relatively well known that a backflip-180 is a flare..
 
You are so dumb. A flare is only a back180 in the pipe otherwise yeah technically it's a rodeo or in acrobatics a half twist. Although no one does rodeos like backflip then a 180 most rodeos are a backwards flipping motion with spins. The difference between a fucking flatspin and rodeo is that a flat spin is just that, a spin. There is no flip in a flatspin I can't find the gif but image laying on your side on the floor and spinning around. That is a flat spin. a rodeo is like I said, a backwards FLIP with spin. Granted some people do rodeos that are VERY close to flatspins and thrown super flat at that point I could see someone calling one the other or so forth but there is a difference between the two. Also there is no such thing as rodeo 3 because that would be a 180 degree spin and 180 degree of flip, also known as falling on your head upside down and backwards. On that note a flat 3 is not a wackflip there is a HUGE difference. just because you throw a backflip slightly off axis (wackflip) and tweak the grab a little or grab safety doesn't mean its a flat three dipshits it's just a wackflip.
 
so basically we're saying the same exact thing. you're just too silly to realize it and just nod your head and be like "oh okay i guess you can look at it that way"

quite well actually. i agree with some of the stuff that he's saying. he's just not willing to see that the majority of our arguments are pretty much saying the same thing as far as rodeo/flatspin. they are too close to distinguish, thus people use the terms based on preference. i'll admit that most people look at flares as only in the pipe, i just don't look at things like backflip-180s as rodeos. because i've always looked at rodeos as an off axis trick.
 
People rarely do them so close that you can't really tell and for that reason they have different names. People use the terms based on preference but that's wrong. They are different tricks for a reason, because they are very different.
 
rdeo 3 is definetly possible i've been tryin them on my trampoline all you have to do is shifty forwards to make it a 3.

Andy Mahre(sp?) does a really sick on in On Top of Hood, too. I'm not saying they're impossible, just most of the time "flat 3s" are not actually flat spins. An actual flatspin 360 looks dope.

And at the second part of the OP, a switch rodeo 3 is still impossible because like I said, the least amount of spinning in any rodeo is 540. I think I've seen bdog do a switch cork 3, and I've seen footy of Karl Fostvedt(sp?) and Joss Christensen have done switch lincoln loops. Also, I wanna say I've seen Colby West and Torin do switch wackflips.
 
a rodeo 3 almost looks like a weird backflip im guessing and for a sw rodeo 3, i would assume that u could do a rodeo 5 but then shifty back to a 360. i guess it would be possible

by your logic we can call 360s 540s just as long as you spin the 540 degrees at some point, even if you land the same way you took off the jump.

does that make any sense to you because it sure as hell doesn't to any skier who isn't an idiot.
 
I have no clue what ur talking about what u just said makes no sense to me im saying do the trick the same as a rodeo 5 but just shifty forward in the air. And steezemaster24 said the exact same thing as me if u need clarification on what im saying.
 
You're missing the point. At its most simple description a rodeo is a flip backwards with at LEAST a 180 spin, meaning you have to take off one way and land the other direction for it to be a rodeo, meaning a RODEO, NOT SPINS ADDED INTO A RODEO AS IN A RODEO 720 (that's for all the nit-picking bitches on this site). You can continue to be little bitches and fight with what makes a rodeo or a flat 5 but to say that you can do a rodeo 3 shows that you have no understanding of what a rodeo is as a trick.

If you think we're wrong about this, go ask one of your favorite pros what they think of your idea of a rodeo 3, I bet they'll laugh in your face and then spit in it.
 
I think ur slightly overthinking it. Haha its kinda hard to respond with JWoods flipping the thread on me. Anywho, I was asking for like a rodeo type of rotation in which you dip your shoulder and go off axis but end at 360. Okay yeah maybe it hurts the "definition of the trick", people said the same thing with my "cork zero" thread. "A cork is a spin off axis and if you don't spin it can't be considered a cork". Again I dont really care about the definition of the trick or what its called I am just curious if someone can get off axis and return back with no spin (as I was shown is possible by Adam Delorme). Similarly, I don't care if it hurts the definition of the trick, I was just curious if someone can do that type of rotation with only a 360, which apparently might even be possible with just a 180, (Henrik Harlaut did a transfer from one QP to another with what pretty much looked like a flat 180)
 
Like said before i don't care about the definition either and u don't have to call it a rodeo if u dont want to. and i don't think the pros would give a crap they're just out there to have fun
 
The people who came up with the definition probably just specified "with a spin" because they thought otherwiae it would be impossible to do like go off axis without a spin, which people like Delorme are proving is wrong
 
Why do you keep mentioning Delorme. I have never seen him do anything like you're describing. All of the footy of him doing 3s that I've seen consisted of corks and lincolns.
