Rode videomic pro question

I'm thinking about getting this mic for christmas however I was wondering if anyone knew whether the warranty covers the input cable. From what I've heard it's pretty dinky and seems fairly easy to break, I've read through their warranty and terms of agreement and all it said was, "workmanship flaws" are covered (closest to a cable malfunction)

Any help would be great,
